    Perhaps they could use a smoke bomb for them despawning. They do look like ninjas don't you think?

    I think we should have a way to prevent wandering traders from despawning, similar to the naming/vehicle system for normal villagers. I think it’s strange that wandering villagers are one of the only mobs without this option. Even if this could only be done in creative mode, I think it would be a huge improvement. I have a few red stone ideas that require wandering traders, but it’s frustrating to have to replace them every time they despawn, especially when they aren’t easily accessible.

    Basically, they should not spawn anywhere close any building blocks, but to go towards them (generated structures like villages and player buildings made with).

    I've got another entry for your spawning improvements. I think wandering traders shouldn't be able to spawn in an area where hostile mobs are present. What brought this idea up was when I was assaulting a pillager outpost on a survival map. Amidst all the fighting a wandering trader pops out of nowhere. What would a trader be doing wandering into enemy territory? This could also be quite an unlucky distraction for the player.
