Yeah we need this badly. I'm surprised why raids and phantoms don't fit into this either.

This is a great idea. Since this is intended in 1.14 we need this option.

I've found many servers that stop Creepers from breaking blocks, but what server wants foxes to be unable to harvest berries, especially for automatic berry farms, or villagers to be unable to gather food to be willing to breed? `mobGriefing` is a blunt club; many servers need a scalpel.

Yes we need this! Currently I use datapacks to disable ghast, creeper and enderman griefing. I first tried the mob griefing rule but after A LOT of troubleshooting I finally found out that it kept my villagers from harvesting and replanting *facepalm* We need finer granularity for this option.

I also wish this was in the game.

Absolutely we need this. I'm sick and tired of enderman filling up my builds with grass blocks.

I completely agree. I don't know how Javascript works, but I imagine implementing this can't be too hard.

This is a great idea, and i would like to add some categories to the mob types for example:

/gamerule mobgriefing minecraft:creeper false (only effects creeper)
/gamerule mobgriefing hostile false (effects creepers, ghasts, etc.)
/gamerule mobgriefing neutral false (effects zombified piglins so they cannot pickup items, etc.)
/gamerule mobgriefing peaceful false (effects villagers, snowgolems, foxes, etc.)

This is especially important because as of now there is no real valid alternative to prevent creeper explosions while keeping their damaging attributes

You can get datapacks for this, but I'd love to see it in vanilla.

Please add this feature! It would be really helpful in map creation and for creating adventure mode games!!

How about a staged version for enderman where they can't pick up or place blocks in a well lit area.  They keep placing blocks and letting things out of my pens.

If you  are on Java, here's something you can do... Press Escape -> Click "Open to LAN" -> Click (In the top right) "Cheats OFF" -> Click "OPEN TO LAN" Then you should be able to use cheats like /gamerule Mobgreifing true. The only problem is that you'll have to do this every time you enter the world, and the only way to put it back to no cheats is to leave the world and join it again... But It's a getto solution for a getto problem
