Totem pole that can prevent hostile mobs from spawn and do other cool stuff.
2:Active item slot.
Totems will use diamonds or emeralds as active item and need fuel in order to prevent hostile mobs from spawning. Fuel can be any flammable material that will burn in furnace. Diamonds and Emeralds will be destroyed during the process.
Basic totem without any modifiers will burn diamond for 1 minecraft days and one emerald for 4 minecraft days (day +night, 17 minutes). Diamonds and Emeralds can be removed from Totem once placed inside if there is more than one. If you put 5 diamonds in totem u can remove four. Last diamond will always be consumed. It is prevention system for retrieving diamonds and emeralds before they will be burned.
Basic totem will cover one chunk no matter where placed on this chunk always use it as active one for protect.
Totem can use modifiers for variety of purposes.
Totem range can be upgraded. Using emerald block. One emerald block will add+1 chunk in every direction up to +4 range covering 146x146 blocks.
Every slot will speed up fuel consumption and item consumption. Using all four slots will shorten diamond efficiency to 1/4 minecraft day an emerald efficiency to 1 minecraft day.
Some modifiers will double or triple or even quadruple the consumption.
Emerald block: +1 chunk in every direction.
Flint and steel: No fire spread/fire protection.
TNT : Prevents explosion from destroying blocks.
Nametag: Tamed animals can't be hurt.
Soulsand: Prevents all plants from growth. Including grass.
GoldenApple: Villagers can't be harmed.
Book with written players names: Prevent every other player not included in book, from placing or destroying blocks in totem range.Speed up fuel and item consumption modifier x4
Using book of protection will claim only free chunks. If there is totem with book of protection modifier, their chunks will not be claimed.
Dragon Head: Damaging all hostile mobs in range including player. Stack up with Book of protection claim. With this modifiers only non included players will get damage. Speed up fuel and item consumption modifier x3.
Enchanted Golden Apple: Player can't be set into flames/ Prevents all burn damage. Speed up fuel and item consumption modifier x2
Netherstar: Heals players in range. Again can be stuck up with Book of protection claim. Heals only players included in book. Speed up fuel and item consumption modifier x3
Mob modifiers. Using mob specified drop like bone, spider eye or any other hostile mob drop you can prevent only that one mob from spawning.
Also you can put more than one totem in chunk.
Modifiers speed consumption will look like this consumption mod1 + consumption mod2 + consumption mod3 + consumption mod4.
With max modifier is: netherstar x3 +book of protection claim x4+ Golden Apple x2 + Dragon Headx3
All consumption modifier will speed up to x12.
One diamond will burn for one minecraft day or 17 minutes (day 10 minutes and night 7 minutes)
With speed modifier one diamond will burn for only 75 seconds and one emerald for 5 minutes.
One stack of diamonds will be efficient for approx 4,7 minecraft days with this modifiers.
It is possible to consider using other materials as consumable item. Like Iron and Gold with gold as 1/4 diamond efficiency and iron as 1/8 diamond efficiency.
Redstone: mining speed modifier.
Lapis: Luck modifier.
Feather: negates fall damage.
Arrow: no projectile damage. (again book of claim can be applied)
Eye of Ender: Players not included in book will be teleported i random direction.
Totems can use hoppers for fuel and active item transport system.
Totems can be also used in creative mode or in serwers as land claim/land protection
In creative mode you can use Barrier as fuel and active item. This will set up totem in barier mode, only admin can modified totem slots and totem will applied modifiers without fuel.
