Redstone is a really underused part of minecraft. I think that, at least the structures in the game should make better use of it, mostly in the form of traps in structures.
For example, desert temples are common structures and they use some redstone, but they use redstone poorly and simply.
If you changed it slightly to use more interesting or dangerous traps, or puzzles, it would be much better.
1) There could change chests to trapped chests and remove the very obvious and avoidable pressure plates,
2) perhaps, in the central tunnel leading down, you could have some trip wires and potion/arrow dispensers,
3) you could also have a puzzle, like the jungle temples, but more unique, that reveals a staircase down to the chest area, or a secret chest.
There are other ways to make the structure more interesting in terms of redstone, and there are a lot of structures which could use extra redstone.
Villagers especially come to mind, as they are supposedly getting smarter in 1.14. Perhaps you could add dispensers by the job areas, like the farm or the docks for fishing, to dispense tools to the villagers working there.
These are just examples, as there are many possibilities for upgrading structures with redstone.
