When you are making your redstone suggestions, please note that Java and Bedrock will not have the exact same the same redstone systems - this would require redoing redstone system completely on one platform or the other. The two systems are functionally different and are going to stay that way. Please be sure to tag your suggestions with (Java) or (Bedrock).

It actually would change the current game mechanics and, while it probably wouldn't break any devices, would cause certain of them to work less efficiently. The reason is that by always pushing out an item from the fullest slot, you maximize the delay before there are any free slots ready to accept a new kind of item. In a worst case, where you have full stacks of 5 different items, instead of being able to accept a new item after pushing 64 out, you'd have to push 63 * 5 + 1, or 316 out before a new kind of item could be pulled.

I really like that, a tiny change which would make a massive difference

@Auldrick: Valid point there. But is this really a problem in any situation?

In my opinion the only issue you could have is if you have a farm which is producing more than 5 items, at a rate faster than the hopper can keep up with. And in this exact scenario a single hopper is not enough anyway...

Can you give an example in which case this really would be less efficient? I could not think of a single reasonable situation.

Thanks for your feedback though. :)
