We always recommend that people save backups of posts they're particularly interested in keeping for themselves, but this is an interesting change (that would require some changes to our backend software) that is worth considering in a long-term way.

    Thanks for the suggestion!

I definetely encourage this, for I lost an interesting idea which I described in high detail, which I would have been able to comment under someones elses post with small changes easily. Instead, I was forced to rewrite it, which I did definetely not do as detailed as before.

I was not warned that deleted posts would be lost to myself as well back then. This is discouraging especially for people who only have one or two ideas to post - it is highly likely that the current treatment will keep them from posting feedback in the future.

Edit: the comment of mad3nder mad3nder I just found in following post is a good example about how this discouragement happens: https://feedback.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/community/posts/360030146992-The-Satchel-Horses-

An alternative would be including the post inside the notation which you send by email.

I agree with this because if someone's post was deleted without any info, they might assume that it was a bug and will try to post it again which means more duplicated threads.

I actually made this mistake before, posted something twice after it was deleted because I thought "maybe I didn't clear the recaptcha properly" or "maybe the server was down when I posted it"

Hilmy091 - Please keep in mind posts are not deleted without info. :)
Don't see your post? As people are automatically subscribed to threads they post, you should check your email that you log into this site with and your spam filter too, especially if you are posting a lot of ideas. Thank you!

If something is rejected/deleted for being similar to something else there should be a link to the similar idea as well

This is definitely a good idea. I have a confusing mass of ideas running around in my head and until recently I wasn't making a back up so I forgot which ones I had added and which ones I hadn't.

Some of may posts also cleared the approval phase and spent some time collecting votes and comments before disappearing into nothing, which was a bit confusing at first.

I would also add that the current reasons given when a post is rejected are very much a catch all and so not very helpful in creating better feedback.
