Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

I kind of like the idea, but I'd end up changing the tool recipes to a stick and a plank as to prevent needing sticks for each type of wood. IDK how to solve the sword though.

Either way I like the idea from the aspect of making different resources work differently not just better.

In reply to ConcertedSea1, the handles would only effect tools; swords could remain the same. Totally agree about the 1 plank and 1 stick for this addition. That also allows players to choose not to change how they craft. Unless, it requires saplings instead of sticks.

Suggestion for how the sapling type could affect tools:

    Oak - Standard. Nothing special.

    Birch - Slight Efficiency

Spruce - Slight Increase in durability

Dark Oak/ Acacia - 50/50 chance of mob attraction/repulsion. Mobs notice the player instantly/ Makes mobs ignore the player for a moment. Either it gives the chance to finish mining the block/ switch to a weapon or adds to the danger.

Jungle - Reach. Can mine blocks 6 away from player instead of 5.

A handle would be cool for bigger better crafting recipes with its being three sticks two leather and two iron ingots.A machete(good at cutting wood and leaves with a damage of 7 heart no armor)with it’s crafting recipe 2 iron blocks and a handle
A saw (good at cutting wood with a damage of 4 hearts no armor and a recipe of and iron sword , a handle and two iron ingots
