I am pretty tired of Minecraft being so easy. I often compare this game to doing a similar, but not exact route that Terraria takes. The environment around you should get more difficult as you progress in the game. You could even only allow this mode to be accessible for use in the menu after defeating the Ender dragon once? Just a suggestion. Either way, I find Minecraft's Hard difficulty to be incredibly easy. Me and my friends have been playing hard difficulty for over 6 years on Xbox/Bedrock! There's a lot of us as well and we have all said how badly we want the core mobs and mechanics to somehow become more difficult! I'll definitely try to get them to vote on this one!

Excellent! I've been wishing Minecraft was more difficult for quite some time... a harsher food system would also be nice, as hunger can be a great incentive to keep a player exploring and building.

And what if some mobs targeted crops?

If your gonna go that big how about adding a thirst mechanic too, maybe as a secondary tools required to harvest farm crops.  Hoe for tubers and shears for wheat. On top of accelerated hunger decay. That way there's no need to implement a food rotting mechanic.

Hasn’t Terraria had this for like three years or something?

    Great idea!

To expand upon this, maybe add random events like blood moons or eclipses. Mob drop rates could be higher/lower, and food could replenish less than normal. Mobs could spawn with potion/beacon effects, much like in hard difficulty. Maybe like speed, fire resistance, jump boost, resistance, slow falling, regen, etc. They could also spawn with random status effects like poison attack, fire attack, hunger depletion, etc. Maybe players wouldn't want Expert mode to be so RNG based but it would definitely keep them on their toes!

    1. What if this expert mode gets activated when you beat the ender dragon for the first time.

    2. Or you have to build some sort of construction with the trophies of the ender dragon (dragon egg), the wither (nether star) and maybe a new unique trophy for the raid. Combine those in a building, which of you could maybe find a blueprint of in dungeons. This blueprints might be random, so same model but random blocks. Buikd it with te trophy and power it with redstone or light it with flint and steel and it

A: Gives a pop-up that expert mode has been enabled.

B: Summons a boss, which if you defeat it, will activate expert mode.

Why would you wanna be in expert mode? It isn’t just harder, but there are new blocks, item’s, crafting recipe’s and boss(es).

This is my opinion about expert mode. I don’t say that your idea is bad, but it sounds better to me when you don’t have that option on yet by creating the world. But that it will automatically activate if one of the things above is completed.

Sorry for my bad English btw, I’m a Dutch boy, so that’s why it might not follow all grammar rules properly.

    I would for the Phantoms put a system where they will grow after a certain time, like after they spawn it could be after three nights that they grown in size and they grow up to five or six times the size{which in turn would make them more slower but also more stronger}

another idea would have them be able to follow players into the caves.

and have them have the appropriate mechanic of following the player no matter where they are, (in a cave at diamond level strip mining, they have you, in the nether...well they'll wait, such as in the end) to balance this out and not have the players abuse the nether or end I'd say give them a meter of "after sleep" which would appear after they haven't slept for three days and phantoms appeared this meter would also increase in the nether by x2 and in the end by x4. This meter would also take as long as it would take for the phantoms to grow up to the five or six times as large scale, which would make it be a slow countdown to the big guys which will stay even after you slept.

another cool thing would be if phantoms where able to help other phantoms or mobs by showing them they way to you...but that could be a bit too OP.

There should be a new enchantment to disallow the sweeping enchant to effect friendly mobs, namely pet wolves/cats

Yes but every ten nights you can not sleep and all mobs attack your base and can destroy all blocks and it would be and a exstended night along with them being able to outsmart and disable traps

What if this mode can act as a "hardcode" of sorts, like Terraria? Once you have gotten to the Nether, some of these features will be activated specifically those on how mobs target, follow, and see players through transparent like glass. Once you have beaten the Ender Dragon, all of the other features come into play. If not, then have expert mode be a separate setting from the game difficulty, so you could still have low mob spawn in easy, but still have the extra difficulty when you do encounter one.

I'd love to see them add the some of the leveled enemies that we've seen in Minecraft Dungeons to caves/dungeons on normal difficulty and on the surface in hard difficulty. Increased drops and added difficulty would be amazing; you get my vote.

Since you choose it in the world settings before creating it I think it should also impact world generation like having structures and ores rarer.

Yo diria que si los mobs se vuelven mas fuerte implementar algun mob que aparesca en las aldeas para protegerlas no el iron golem que sean como los aldeas pero que peleen

One of my biggest complaints about Minecraft is that it’s too easy, and as you said, it gets easier and easier thru updates. Before sprint existed, it was terrifying to see a creeper. We have 400 billion kinds of food now, crops multiple super fast, monsters drop enchanted tools & armor at the norm, etc. But while I think there are right ways to go about a more difficult survival mode, this I can’t say I’m onboard with. Your changes make it sound like the mode should just be called Nowhere Is Safe XD I’d feel like I was playing in a world full of griefers all the time! So not sure I want all monsters being practically equal to players, and some with overpowered abilities (phantoms can turn invisible??). Idk, sounds harder than RL Craft. :p

Maybe in this mode bats would be harder to kill, but would drop loot.

I think that with an expert mode, more mobs should be added and a blood moon.
Blood moon could double every undead or hostile mobs health while its running and make the spawn rate for mobs 1.6x more than normal.
    - new mob variants that have special effects (like strays and husks)
    Also
    - mobs should also spawn more regularly with buffs in hardmode/expert mode (speed, strength, more health)
Mojang should definitely take inspiration from Terraria when making hard mode/expert mode more difficult
    - more mobs with more health and better AI
    - better loot and drops
    - more bosses
    Etc.
this could be an amazing change to people who want Hardmode and Expert mode to not only just be more difficult, but more rewarding when playing

I can’t wait for this to be added
I think it would add balance, keep low key players, & OP players alike happy.

Minecraft needs this! Some people would say "bruh diz iz to complax lol" and I disagree with that. This should work normally even if it was a mod, so I do not see why Mojang wouldn't add this. Anyways, This difficulty is unforgivable and challenging, but I feel like it can be even MORE harder!

    • Whenever you sleep on the bed, you will wake up at the opposite time. Example: If you sleep in the middle of the Night, you will wake up in the middle of the Day.
    • Every tool can break faster.
    • Tools should look broken whenever they lose durability.
    • The green durability bar should be removed.
    • Lava INSTANTLY kills you (even if you have a Totem of Undying)
    • Mobs should have even more damage.
    • The Hunger Bar depletes faster.
    • Night Time should be WAY darker.

We need something like this!! Mobs are so easy with knockback and sprinting, survival is easy because of an over abundance of food

if this was ever added it should be obtained by defeating the ender dragon in normal or hard dificulty (because it shouldnt be so easy to obtain)

The zombie tackle would be impossible to escape in mobile versions so that probably shouldn’t be added
