I think that mobs should also look more scary in Expert mode. It would really help add a lot more depth to how hard it FEELS as well as is

Allowing mobs to spawn closer to the player is another factor which could be effected. A cloud of smoke/dust/light (depending on the non) could appear for a few seconds where the mob will spawn to give the player a warning. Additionally, there could be a mechanic to interact with the cloud which would cancel the spawning.

I really like this idea, i have to say that while im not the best player, modern minecraft feels way easier than it used to. ive gone back to beta and the mobs were much harder (mostly because they could hit farther but still) i would love to see smarter mobs with cooler abilities, it would be an awesome mode to have in the game cause it would help bring some new life to the mobs that we have come accustom to

What about having the dragon try to knock your projectiles out of the sky with an occasional gust of wind from its wings or by firing the acid charges?

This is an excellent idea for an update. I like the thoughts on unique mob advantages, especially the Illusioners ability to, well, be better at making illusions. You are very good at making these suggestions and I am very impressed.

I think this is an amazing idea and I think it would improve the game massively. the game being too easy is one of its biggest problems at the moment and I think this would help fix that. Also maybe hard mode could have a unique boss just for it to encourage players to use it.

    These ideas are wonderful!

Adding intensity to the AI abilities of mobs would really encourage players to build strong, stable bases as well as better fighting techniques. Strong blocks like “hardened stone” or maybe a steel block that you can craft with iron blocks, that prevent mobs from breaking in. These blocks should allow for optimal protection from hostile mobs, but they should also but hard to obtain. (e.g. hardened stone can only be found in deep underground areas, steel blocks must be crafted with excessive amounts of iron, etc.)

Another idea for a mob ability should be for Blazes, in which when they are low at health, they can lodge their rods at you to deal more damage. It should also decrease the chance that they will drop blaze rods, making battling blazes a much more challenging feat to deal with.

Adding on to Spiders and Cave Spiders, it may be a little far fetched, but maybe they should be able to shoot webs to make the player slower at movement.

Finally, I think obtaining resources in this so called “Expert” mode should be more difficult. Maybe ores like coal and iron, which are pretty easy to find early-on in the game, should be a bit rarer to obtain. Farming crops could be more difficult. Having to constantly take care of the crops by watering them or creating ways that mobs can take/destroy them would make it a much less easy task. Villages should be less common to find, as they are an easy way for players to find a safe shelter and find beds. Villages make the game a lot more easier then it was before.

All in all, this is an incredible idea, and adding difficult, challenging aspects to the game for more experienced players would improve the game a lot! :)

I agree! I think that playing this with friends would be cool. We would hide in the sky and eventually get caught XD
Are the beasts ravagers or Piglin Beasts?
I think that ravagers would try to destroy your base, making it so that you would have to build underground or high in the sky. Piglin Beasts would always know where you are if there is a Zombified Piglin nearby. Piglin Beasts will break through blocks to get to you unless you have a wither skeleton skull on your head. Zombies should be able to press buttons/open iron doors, and climb ladders. Skeletons spawn with enchanted bows and armor most of the time, and as you said, hide behind blocks and mobs. Magma slimes should light you on fire when they hit you, but die in water. But I also think that there should be a way to defend yourself. Most hostile mobs except zombies, skeletons, drowned, and endermen will avoid honey blocks. Zombies can be stopped with flowers, Skeletons can be stopped with scaffolding (STICKS and stones can break their bones), Drowned can be stopped with soul sand, and endermen can technically be stopped with water, but considering they are related to the ender dragon, I don't think they should be stopped another way.

I hope this comment isn't too long xd

Another thing that should be added is letting some melee mobs such as (wither skeletons, vindicators, and more) use shields effectively this would really add the the game play and make axes a viable weapon as well.

maybe the mobs are also smart enough to use Redstone such as levers and buttons, and open doors. and use gates, maybe even build!

    I agree.
I also think it would be good to have mob AI work together. Such as, if a player is behind a wall and the mobs know this, creepers would blow up the wall instead of waiting to get near the player. This would add the challenge of needing to actually fight mobs off and make the choice of not sleeping the night away to have real risk. Then players could build structures with more meaning, such as a Castle with a moat so creepers can't get near the wall, and a retractable redstone path across the moat. I think implementations like these would reinvigorate the fear of the night and the challenge it was supposed to have that is now lost. Along with this, a gamemode like this would have tons of multiplayer potential with friends, as people could work together to build a mob proof base, or defend different areas of a wall. However, besides just more difficulty, I think the iron golems AI should be improved for a mode like this where they would be better at defending and protecting the player from mobs. This would give players a reason to spend their iron on them as currently they seem like a waste right now.

It is a very creative and well thought out idea that i would appreciate having introduced to the game, as many people would agree. Because it is so well thought out and creative of an idea it gives an aspect of realism that is very pleasing to imagine as i read this. You have my full support in this.

I want to interrupt you in this Post! This sounds like something, which could be done in a simple Datapack.

Since 1.13 Minecraft Commands are enough to code something into the game.
Not everything but many things. The Hardcore Version you talk about already exists and being forged in a german discord from "Halbzwilling".

He codes Minecraft hardcore and has already implemented some of these features!

I would play this mode forever.
To prove that I am an expert in Minecraft. I will say some ideas for this mode.
    1. When you throw a fireball at a Ghast, it will throw another ball so that the one you threw won't hit.
    2. When a golem attacks you, it will lift you about 5 blocks from the ground.
    3. If you hit a fox, they will attack you by jumping and walking over you.
    4. The Blazes would use their canes to cover the attacks. They are my ideas for this expert mode.

I agree, having a master mode/expert mode at world creation would be great! I think mobs should be harder in the sense that they have more capabilities that the player has like jumping, placing and breaking blocks (especially for zombies) to make them feel like there a real threat instead of just being a nuisance.
