With the introduction of the lantern, I think that it would be feasible, in this mode, to allow torches to 'go out' over time.

I'm interested in the losing of hostile mobs through hiding. Minecraft occasionally lags for me, and I was curious if target checking could be changed so that the player gives out a notification every two ticks when moving and for a short period afterward.

So, rather than all the mobs checking individually per two ticks inside of a radius, each mob has a radius that can accept an impulse from the player that is sent out every two ticks when the player is moving. That would also allow for players to hold still and not be noticed by mobs, thereby escaping from hordes of mobs.

Eventually, this could then allow for the balance change of giving mobs the ability to Sprint after a player.

The loot table is increased so that the reward for killing a more powerful mob is much greater.

There's only one problem with this suggestion. How will endermen attack foes in water? Maybe they should pick up and throw blocks at the player if they're in water! I still love this suggestion, and i'm glad it's being considered! :D

I have been wanting a mode like this forever! I also think every full moon or something a mob siege should happen where creepers blow up walls and mobs spawn with better gear, effects and tools that allow them to mine to the player. Minecraft on hard mode just isn't hard enough at all. this would also mean having a defensive base would be useful.

I think the hunger should also be the same as hard or something like that, as increasing it any further would definitely slow down the pace and be pretty annoying.

I definitely love this idea, I've always felt that MC needed better AI, especially since it's inspired by games like Dwarf Fortress (a game which has infamously in-depth AI)!

My only criticism is the idea of Zombies grabbing the player, as I don't want a quicktime event in Minecraft, but perhaps that ability could be given to spiders, where they shoot webs that slow you down if you aren't wearing armour.

Ok so this is a great idea, but what in the world is a beast? Also what should be added, for players who are not allowed to play with undead, should be a game mode that excluded or changes the skin of undead

I firmly agree with this, however maybe these advanced mobs shouldn't exist within this one game mode? I believe the mobs should have some smarter capabilities in all difficulties and the only time they actually get harder to deal with is on the harder difficulties. Mobs are your basic mobs on Easy, although they have the added ability to do the advanced path finding and searching for the player. Normal should allow them to jump over gaps and so forth with sprinting with slightly more advanced and smarter path finding. And Hard? Well all of the above post! This is awesome and I would love to see how all of these ideas are implemented in the future.

Also if creepers could blow up next to structures to allow their hostile friends to get to you that would also provide an extra challenge.

I would like some expert mode. Making the AI much more aggressive and tactical, making PvE more challenging. Maybe also making items more rare, drops and ores, forcing a player to constantly be on the move and trading with villagers would server as a better source to get decent gear, cause of the rarity of ores has been increased.

I fully support this! I would love a really difficult difficulty to beat the dragon in! This mode would also be really good for PvP and/or minigames and the AI from some of these mobs could possibly be used in other difficulty settings.

i agree with all of these changes expect for the way zombies/drowned can grab you, just make it so drowned push you down like 1 block

and you should also make the enderman able to build a bridge over the water when your in a lake

Make this a thing! You obviously thought through a lot of this will detail and seem to realise the difficulties of scripting, taking that into consideration caused this masterpiece to come out!

Wow, I really like this idea. The only issue with it is that I believe that it would only be available on Java edition with all the complex AI (mobile games would surely crash instantly, lol). I would like to add that I think it would be beneficial if there was a toggle option on this difficulty where you are given the option for the player to be able to respawn or not (like Hardcore).

this could be added along side the Cave update and calling it "Death in the Dark" update to combine a sense of "dread" with this expert mode idea and the darkness of the caves. Additionally i think that it would be cool if the lower you go down in minecraft caves, the more aggressive the mobs will get, appearing in larger groups, being faster, and maybe variants of the monsters spawning the farther down you go.

I love it!!! We need a purpose to build elaborate defense and doors and mechanisms! I would like to use the Cold War as an example. The need to beat or overtake or even survive drove the need to innovate by both countries. Wreck It Ralph! Without a bad guy, there is no good guy.

I feel like some of these (spiders on walls/ceilings, improved AI, seeing through transparent blocks), should be part of the regular game modes as well. This is a great suggestion.

I like this idea.  General improvements in mob IA would make me happy.  I want some mobs to be less predictable and better at navigating.

This is such a great suggestion, the game is certainly getting way too easy and an expert mode would fix that, and encourage long time players to find a new reason to play the game. Beating this mode would be so much fun, especially to players who have beaten every challenge and find no fun in survival mode.

This is a really well-composed idea that makes sense. It doesn't change anything about the game if it's just included as an extra game mode that makes the game harder and more skill-based. This provides a whole new challenge to the game (introduces new ways to play through different types of speedruns, challenges, etc.) and makes the game more fun for players who become bored with being untouchable gods after putting in the first 10 hours in. Would love to see this in the game (not that I would play it much) and am glad this is under review!
