    It is kind of diffcult to apply a damage that is without a damage dealer.

    What about this:

    /damage <damage taker> <amount>  [dealer <damage dealer>] [type]

     

    dealer should be nullable.

    Perfect idea!
    BUT damage taker may be ommited (@s in that case)
    /damage <amount> [damage taker] 
    [type]
    And the [type] default is physical damage

    Perhaps also a way to run a `/execute store result damage ...` for score-based damaging so it doesn't end up as obsolete as /attribute did.

    yeah if there is one, you can display a death message 'playername fell from a high place' instead of 'playername fell out of the world' which is displayed when using /kill command
