I think it would be a good idea, but it would be very frustrating needing to deal with the termites. In illagers houses (pillagers, witches, evokers, and vindicators) who is going to kill the termites?( for the illagers will be so difficult). So its a good idea but it needs more solutions 😊🤗(^U^)

meerkat groups should coordinate attacks on termites too. they should say when they are in pain by calling for help, saying if they see termites, and should only talk to ones from their group. and, be hostile to outsiders

Termites were suggested in the comments section.  Maybe you could elaborate there.

I think termites should have a chance of spawning after you break a block of wood in desert Savannah and mesa biomes and be like silverfish...

Are termites still going to be added even though they weren't voted in?

I think maybe they should have a choice (pe) before loading the game that says “ world opstions” and the thing to turn termites off and on should say“enable termites”.

what would you do about the infestation if you live nowhere near a desert?

It's a strange idea but don't call them termites or model then strictly after these household pests. If they are going to be a destructive feature then make them a fantasy creature.

Additionally if they are going to eat wood then have a given "strain" only prefer a certain wood type. So if you find a critter colony eating the oak out of your house, you could replace the lost oak with birch or dark oak until you're sure you've wiped out the infestation. Or if they prefer the birch, it's time to build out of spruce or whatever else is handy. (Otherwise building anything stationary out of wood might be seen as impractical when stone or dirt may be more plentiful locally).

coarse dirt and any kind of stone should stop them cold. And just for purposes of avoiding unnecessary frustration, these critters should have no interest in fences, gates, ladders, chests, tables, doors, etc.

But if you can harvest them and cook them, you could make them into a food item or an alternative food source for chickens.

I think that the termite nests should be pretty large considering the biggest termite colony in the world is bigger than the United Kingdom.

I like it - but they shouldn't be allowed to infest trees because that would be beyond annoying - especially if you have a tree farm. Maybe don't let them do too much damage to villages either.

Termites should have hills or nests and these mounds would be 2-8 blocks tall built much like a real mound. These would be hard blocks and as annoying as cobweb to mine with a iron pick, termites would be attacking you while you try, every block you break 1-4 termites would come out to join the fight. If you decide to leave it there and leave the big underground part slowly very slowly block by block the termites would build back up their mound. They would also breed and live in nearby wood they don’t eat which as your house or trees, in order to stop this you will have to kill each and every termite or else you will have to try again if one lives. You may need help from a new mob like an anteater to deal with these. I recommend tnt.

I feel like adding termites will turn into such a pesky thing later on and additionally create more game lag. I don't think having a placable termite block would be wise either. If termites were added there should also be an ability for the players to rid of them and not just animals. I feel like this idea wasn't very thought through. Theres so many things that would have to happen for this to be added and everything be okay. We don't need more things in the game that destroy player creations. How would the problem be solved if theres no animals. Especially if its to complex to get rid of for kids playing the game to understand. Someone further below me said the following , " Termites should also infest dirt, coarse dirt and farmland (making it grow crops faster while raining) and destroy leaves and crops. They are not just destructive but natural architects, there could be a structure like a giant mound or an underground maze gallery with organic tunnels, rooms full of termites, with mushroom farms etc. ". This is something I would love to have instead of something destructive that can easily get out of hand.

But don’t you think that if you can’t find any meercats the house would fully get eaten? Also. Would they stick around when the house is fully destroyed or not? Would they eat crafting tables and chests? If they do, when they fully eat the chest would the stuff go everywhere or have the eaten the stuff inside as well? Would they only eat the wood like things in the chest? Or not? Would they take the stuff from the crafting table if they ate it while you were crafting? Details, details, details.

Can the termites please have a huge mound that has REALLY good stuff, like diamonds and things of that rarity?
