    I think that the termite nests should be pretty large considering the biggest termite colony in the world is bigger than the United Kingdom.

    I like it - but they shouldn't be allowed to infest trees because that would be beyond annoying - especially if you have a tree farm. Maybe don't let them do too much damage to villages either.

    Termites should have hills or nests and these mounds would be 2-8 blocks tall built much like a real mound. These would be hard blocks and as annoying as cobweb to mine with a iron pick, termites would be attacking you while you try, every block you break 1-4 termites would come out to join the fight. If you decide to leave it there and leave the big underground part slowly very slowly block by block the termites would build back up their mound. They would also breed and live in nearby wood they don’t eat which as your house or trees, in order to stop this you will have to kill each and every termite or else you will have to try again if one lives. You may need help from a new mob like an anteater to deal with these. I recommend tnt.

    I do also think that that should be 2 pixels instead of massive like bees or silver fish

    I feel like adding termites will turn into such a pesky thing later on and additionally create more game lag. I don't think having a placable termite block would be wise either. If termites were added there should also be an ability for the players to rid of them and not just animals. I feel like this idea wasn't very thought through. Theres so many things that would have to happen for this to be added and everything be okay. We don't need more things in the game that destroy player creations. How would the problem be solved if theres no animals. Especially if its to complex to get rid of for kids playing the game to understand. Someone further below me said the following , " Termites should also infest dirt, coarse dirt and farmland (making it grow crops faster while raining) and destroy leaves and crops. They are not just destructive but natural architects, there could be a structure like a giant mound or an underground maze gallery with organic tunnels, rooms full of termites, with mushroom farms etc. ". This is something I would love to have instead of something destructive that can easily get out of hand.

    But don’t you think that if you can’t find any meercats the house would fully get eaten? Also. Would they stick around when the house is fully destroyed or not? Would they eat crafting tables and chests? If they do, when they fully eat the chest would the stuff go everywhere or have the eaten the stuff inside as well? Would they only eat the wood like things in the chest? Or not? Would they take the stuff from the crafting table if they ate it while you were crafting? Details, details, details.

    If termites are added then their should he a switch in the settings that prevents termites from spawning. ( This setting would be for the players who do not want their creations to be ruined. )

    Here’s my idea:

    Termite block would work like bees. About 2-3 termites per block, The mounds would start with 3-5 blocks, and termites would eat wood and convert it into termite mound. Termite mound would spawn termites until it had spawned 2-3. That way, termites eat your house, aren’t excessive, and look cool.

    Maybe termites can live in a termite hill in the savanna

    I like the idea of wood eating termites, but more like bees than silverfish.

    1. It's a neutral mob

    2. They have a hive

    3. from which they forage out to get wood

    4.which they convert into podzol, growing their hive

    5. creating a growing wasteland around it

    6. May fight hostile mobs in the area (and contribute to the neutral mob cap)

    7. May gather items other than wood back to the hive where they are stored.

    This can be useful in various ways and brings the environment to life like bees do, but can be a nuisance that needs to be neutralized, very similar to a spawner.

    In certain ways, termites could be made to do the players job for them.

    If bees are large in Minecraft, then maybe termites should be too.

    I think they shouldn't be possible for them to climb up 2 blocks or go through cobblestone. This would make people have to make their houses safe. Also I think you should be able to super tame meerkats to make them your best friend forever

    If a block was infested: Wood should get rotten and be destroyed very easily, it would also look ugly, and eventually turn back to dirt.

    I = Iron

    S = stick

    A = air

    I I I

    I S I

    A S A

    To prevent infestations they should have a mechanism where they start in trees then if h use the log it will start to eat at wood in savanas and things like that to prevent it from becoming a horrid pest like the phantom

    I think termites should be at around 1 block big like bees and work in a colony: the queen, the workers, the soldiers. The workers would exit the nest and collect wood and dropped items to bring back to the nest in storage rooms and could potentially have a soldier bodyguard following it. They would guard the entrance to the nest and will attack anyone who tries to enter. If a player successfully enters the nest the soldiers will call for backups if there are any present when the player breaks in. The queen could be a mini boss and the heart of the hive. She will continue producing termites until she dies and when she does, the termites will slowly start to die. I have no idea for the prize that would drop from killing the queen but it would certainly get rid of an infestation.

    I have another idea that you could increase your reputation with the nest by giving the worker termites wood. The termites will become more friendly and will allow you into their nest after a while. You could use this as cover during the night and you could access their storage rooms for items (they would have a new type of storage block). You could probably be allowed to trade with them in some way too. There would also be a downside: if you hurt or kill one of them your reputation will lower.

    PS: I was inspired in the myrmex in the ice and fire mod.

    I am not so sure about termites.
    I don't like destructive things. I thought creepers were enough!

    I think maybe they should have a choice (pe) before loading the game that says “ world opstions” and the thing to turn termites off and on should say“enable termites”.
