I don't really play BE a lot, so I've just discovered this feature. And I completely agree that the same should be in JE.

It's certainly not. This is one of the small handful of bedrock exclusives. Meanwhile bedrock just straight-up doesn't implement half the things java has been getting the last few patches

Pls add map biome colours to Java (grass, leaves, ect.)! You can't tell what biomes are what unless they have different ground blocks or tree shapes. It gets quite annoying to have to pull up third party maps to find biome locations.

Yes! I've made my owwn post about this, didn't know that Bedrock already has this. On our world, we have explored roughly 352km², and it isn't really possible to distinguish certain biomes on maps. PLease bring this to Java, Mojang!

I try to play my vanilla worlds with no mods and making use of maps to keep track of the world that I've explored.
When i need to go out to a certain biome, i can't reference my maps, since the colors on it don't represent how the world actually looks in game.
    It's very frustrating.

Why is Bedrock getting more features then Java? I mean I know why but to me it's just stupid.

This is a feature I greatly miss whenever I play on Java, it's so useful for spoting biomes on a map especially when they are similar like a birch forest Vs a Taiga biome.
    Please add it soon.

PLEASE we need this, it's so hard to distinguish biomes on a map, especially when zoomed out, that many of us rather install mapping mods. But I really like using ingame maps and this would make it so much better

They should change Bedrock maps to how Java works, so map pixel art on Bedrock is viable without tens of hours of palette testing

Maps not showing biomes makes them a lot less useful as, you know, a map. I don't care much if a few blocks like grass and leaves become inconsistent for pixel art if it makes maps significantly better at portraying a world, which is their primary purpose and something they should do well.

I cant express how much I love this, that thing is making me want to switch my world over despite the (for me at least) inferior controls and UI

The swamp water on the map looks dark blue instead of dark green, which does not look right…

I think this is already a feature
