Two Handed Weapons/Tool

We are aware combat is getting another overhaul so two-handed weapons/tools could be added at same time. While one of these items are equipped the item in the off-hand can't be used. These weapons would have benefits for being used.

An example of an item which could be a two-handed weapon is TheFriendlyPine's Hammer:

  I totally agree to this.

   

  Battleaxes, spears, two handed swords... we are now in the 'snapshot' of the new combat system, we have the new workplaces without any use...why wouldn't you get this chance to do something amazing?

   

  We have 1 handed weapons and in the other hand we usually have food or a shield...that's the only variety we've got.

   

  Combats could get really insteresting if you hear to this idea, everyone could have a way to fight.

  And we could get a weapon that necessary acts like a weapon from the legacy combat. Being able to attack with both weapons after each other is great. Being able to do that would in a way go around the cooldown timer. Getting in 2 critical attacks after each is great. Maybe have a dagger like the one shown in minecraft dungeons that could be held in both hands. It could have the attack speed of a stone hoe and damage of a gold sword. If this were to be implemented it could be the go to weapon for 1.8 pvp players.

  Honestly hope this gets added, it would give more variety to the combat system as you would need to make a choice between a more powerful weapon (probably with more range) or a slightly weaker weapon but with the ability to have a shield, or gaple, or totem in the offhand

  Ideas for these weapons could be: a battle axe, a giant sword, a Warhammer or even a sythe (would do swearing edge 180° in front of you) or maybe a giant shield that can protect you and entities a block either side of you but you can only attack in a very short range and do very little damage

  using two handed weapons should deal more damage if melee or be more accurate if ranged

  A cool way to craft or upgrade weapons could be the smithing table, to make it a little less one note.
