Basically, it be nice if the admin of a realm could send messages to the players he/she has invited into his/her realm. It would be done by perhaps clicking a small icon somewhere in the area which shows the heads of the invited players. The admin would be able to select which one of the players that are invited to said realm they want to message. They then would be able to type out whatever message they want and then send it to the invited player(s) that they have selected. The player would receive the message and it would show because they would have a popup on their realms icon similarly to when a player sends an invite. which means that said player(s) could read the message the next time they come on minecraft. The player can then delete the message or reply to it. leaving the invite list means that the players will no longer be able to message each other as admins can only message those on their invite list and players can only message those who invited them.
This would be REALLY really useful for players who have little or no contact with the people they play with, other than minecraft and that way they can message said people about when the realm will be open or ask them when they will be on, or even send them a message about their in-game activity for when the other person comes into minecraft, without actually having to have both people enter the realm in order to talk. A real life scenario where this will come in handy is if someone's realm has expired and they were not, for whatever reason, able to pay to refresh it fast enough. So the other people who play on that realm don't even bother to check if it's on/ forget about it, because it has not been on for long. When the admin on that realm finally gets it open again, he/she can message everyone invited and say "Hi guys, just to let you know my realm is back on again, so you may join if you want". that way everyone gets a notification the next time they come into minecraft and they can read what that person says and reply or join the realm etc.
Seriously, I haven't been able to see the person I've been playing on my realm with, because school has ended and I may or may not get into sixth form and they may or may not go there or get in, so we may never see each other again and said person is the only one I know who plays PC minecraft. after my realm expired I was unable to open it again due to some crazy permission stuff which means it was closed for long and I have no other way to tell said person it's now open. The only way for me to currently tell the person I used to play with that my realm is open is by getting good GCSE results.
SO in conclusion a realms messaging system would be AMAZING.
