With the addition of underwater bubble columns that both push and pull on the player, up or down, some fun, creative mechanics can be taken into play. However, there is one drawback to the creative uses in survival mode, where one cannot build things with the aid of commands:
Bubble columns require no block above them save water in order to function. Placing another block on top of an underwater magma block or soul sand however will smother out the column. For creative purposes of having hidden bubble column sources (if magma blocks or soul sand don't want to be seen), you should add a feature where it is possible for at least 1 transparent block to be placed on top of the bubble column source, so long as there is water above both the source and the covering block.
Currently we have the ability to cover up an activated beacon block with transparent blocks besides water, with enchanting tables and bedrock strangely included, for when you only want to see the marvelous beam of light in a build. Can one not have the same aesthetic feature with the interactive bubble columns?
