If you want to propose a change to an existing structure (like villages), or add something brand new in a current dimension or biome, this is the place.
It would probably wokr best as a non craftable thing, and it could be considered an entity that you can walk on. You would have to find a ship to obtain one. Typically abandoned or guarded by the new illager faction perhaps? Illager pirates sound cool.
I run a rp server and i wish i could have a pilotable battleship, not anything huge, just something me and my friends can ride together.
Ive tried using command blocks and thats a hot mess, i just wish there was a way to make it happen.
Ive been all over the minecraft store and no one makes anything like that, but theres things like riding dragons. I know you guys probably dont have control over the content that goes onto the minecraft store i just know theres templates for pirateship themed maps, i just think to myself why cant we have small ship fleets or ship battles?
I think it would be so cool to set sail somewhere, and go on a mining expedition. Come back to the ship at night to sleep in the cabin, and store our loot in the lower decks.
I feel like you should be able to do this. Maybe you could build your own ship from blocks and then there could be some way (like a new block) that would connect everything together to make a single ship entity or something. And yeah, this seems a little off from normal Minecraft, but the aquatic update added literal shipwrecks, implying the (at least previous) existence of pilotable ships. I feel like we should be able to do this.
I like the idea of boats maybe 4 blocks long tops, give or take, with room for 2 players, and a chest, so on long ocean trips you aren’t limited too heavily. Then again anything that could me made mobile would be cool if it’s not too large. Not asking to be able to sail a moving titanic replica, but a very small ship that could sail would be actually kind of cool. But I wouldn’t expect it for a while, given how much code is involved.
@MacchuPicchu96 ships that you, the player build in the game and can sail would greatly fit into the game because Minecraft is marketed as an adventure game and sandbox game, adding ships similar these would contribute to both sides of the game with very little downside, and difficulty coding should not be a reason to keep a good idea from being added to the game.
Because it's complicated to code in and because movable multiblock structures is not really a thing in Minecraft. Some would say it's against the spirit of Minecraft (I'd tend to agree). Could you make a better case for why we should add these?
Building ships is an incredibly fun part of the game and people have built some really incredible things. It's really sad that they are just for looks and there is no way to have functionality.
I will always support making this a thing, but unfortunately I do not have a great solution, the da vincis vessels mod works fairly well. But maybe its best left as a mod?
Perhaps making build able rafts or a few small ship variants that could hold chests and multiple players.
I love the idea of ships that can be sailed. There are command structures that allow it but those lag out the software too much I have found. Plus the mods that include and create movable ships are outdated. Not to mention the fact that pirate ships are a legit thing in minecraft that ought to either be buildable, or resurectable in some respect. I have been wanting this in minecraft for years, would love if more people got on board!
Don't forget the Ship End. Having such cool structures generating naturally is exciting, been able to use them as a transport option increases their value status. Now it's 2020 and your dream hasn't died yet.
I am totally on board with this. BUT... it should be a craftable object ot even found at some villages. It would be cool if you could get a donkey or other mount onboard too.
If you want this download a mod because your suggestion isn't part of minecraft's game style. If you play on bedrock and can't get mods then buy java edition because bedrock edition is trash.
It's too powerful for Minecraft. Just think about it, you can move as many blocks as you want across the water at a fast rate of speed. I will be surprised if this feature gets added to Minecraft.
Now it's 2021, and we still don't have pilotable pirate ships, even though they sound like a great idea. They wouldn't have to be too big, but could be about as big as a standard 3x3 villager house. They could have these features:
- Steering wheel
- 1 bed
- At least 1 chest with some good loot such as a pirate hat, spyglass, emeralds, gold, sword, etc
- Flag
- Minimum 1 and maximum 4 players can ride the boat at any 1 time
- I'm thinking cannons may be too complex, but I still think they'd be a great addition the player could use to defend themselves
A boat wouldn't just fall into the hands of the player. In order to declare a pirate ship your own, you would have to fight off the illager pirates that dwell there. If you kill each one, this ship becomes yours.
Thank you for your time, I'm aware that my suggestions are asking a lot but if Mojang does ever add these types of boats ingame, I have faith that they will do it well.
I like the idea but the mechanics would be soooo hard to put in, this isn't a simple animation that we're talking here, this is a 3D player built ship. There's a reason why Mojang hasn't put this in, if they somehow figured out how, then that's a groundbreaking discovery but in till then I don't see it happening.
