The crabs would be about the size of a silver fish and could be spawned in different variants like the tropical fish. The crab (if killed) would drop an item that looks like a crab (maybe could be called raw crab or just crab). The crab could be cooked into cooked crab meat. The lobster could maybe come in different types but they could just be red as well. They could drop a lobster item similar to the crab that could be cooked into lobster meat. The crab traps could be blocks that look like cages that you place in the water. (Not sure how they would be crafted but I’m sure someone could figure that out) You would place the crab traps under water and just wait. After a while when you return to the traps and open them they could have crabs and lobster inside of them.

Here's a possible recipe for crab traps: 8 iron bars surrounding a raw chicken (the raw chicken is the bait.)
A recipe could be:
w=wood planks
s=stick
w w w
s s
w w w
Crabs should drop claws, useful maybe for brewing or crafting. Crab meat cooked sounds great, but i think claws could have numerous possibilities. Maybe you can catch a crab by fishing rope as well as finding them swimming like other fish. But more likely rarer than fish. Crabs could be spawned strictly in coral reefs with the ability to walk on beaches for some time before having to return into the water, they may try to claw a chicken or something similar to wolves and sheep.
These are just my opinions but yeah crabs would be a great addition.Crustations seems like a good idea, as turtles seem to be the only activity around the shore. I have proposed adding nautilus, which eat crustations IRL, so they could be good additions together!
Or it could be
I-ironbars
R-ironblockR r r
I. I
R r rThe crabs should be able to dance.
I like the idea the crabs should be neutral until you attack them they should be really fast and could do between half hearth and 1 and a half of damage. The crab traps should also be used for fish.
AND... they can dance to music disks.
Crabs in real life attack baby turtles or their eggs
Not Red! They are already cooked when red! More like yellow or blue
also make crawfish spawn in rivers!
I've been hoping for a complete overhaul of beaches, Adding crabs & hermit crabs would certainly make them feel more beachy.
I like the idea of crab claws being used. Maybe crabs can drop crab claws to make something for offense and lobsters can drop lobster shells for something defensive. Maybe to craft “crusty armor” that’s between the level of leather and gold armor but new armor is a touchy thing to add. Something more than “just another food source” or “a piece of armor players skip in favor of iron”
The addition of hermit crabs would be good as well as they’re literally used as a marketing scheme, as impossible and unreal as it sounds. They’re marketed as cheap, easy to care for throwaway pets so people can get more money of them, but as a matter of fact, if you don’t feed them the poison you get for them where they’re sold marketed as “hermit crab food”, and give them proper care and housing, they can live up to decades!
Awesome idea! I’d love to see crabs be able to walk on the side of blocks underwater! It would be cool to see them be able to scurry up the side of a block instead of swimming above it! They could also have the chance to be holding items in their claws like raw fish or maybe nautilus shells!
I think that we should have lobsters on the seafloor in all ocean biomes and are territorial, as well as very large. Crabs could be featured as well but I’d rather see them exclusive to Beaches, Warm Oceans, and Lukewarm Oceans basing them off of tropical amphibious crabs (think Mr. Krab’s species from Spongebob in appearance).
Hear me out, the crating recipe should be as follows: S - string. W - wooden slab(any variant)
W W W
S S S
W W W
or
W W W
S S
W W W
After being placed in the water you can place raw meat into the cage and it would appear in the cage similar to campfires and their meat appearing on the logs.
Crabs should spawn on beaches and tropical ocean biomes
Any sealife added to the game is a huge YES. It gives the game such a magical feel that everyone loves. Crabs and lobsters would be a very cool addition to the game.
Recipe can be 8 iron bars and fishing rod in the middle
Crab traps would be the same as real life. Its crafting could be: sticks in the corners, a wooden slab below, thread, and in the center algae or meat
I think crabs should be mainly found next to the shore, but I think they could also be found on the sea floor, shipwrecks, and maybe rives, just not that common in those places.
I absolutely love this idea. I hope they add it. Crab traps should be made with iron bars and since it could be pretty expensive early game should catch 4 crabs at a time. It should take just as long to fill as it does for a wheat crop to grow. There should be two types of crabs. The small red ones found on the beaches and then various colored ones that are bigger in the deep cold ocean biomes. Lobsters could be also found in deep oceans and they give more loot than beach crabs. Cooked crab meat should fill 2 bars of hunger per meat with the bigger ones giving 2 drops sometimes.
This is such a great idea for increasing the ocean biomes
Beaches need crabs
yes please
It is super idia! 😀😁😁😊😊
Yes should put that each the game in
They could have crabs, lobesters & fish :)
These animals would be soooo cool.
The crab trap recipe could be for iron bars on the edge and trapdoor.
