Orcas (Tame/Ride) and Rays (Tame)

Hi,

 

I am writing on behalf of my five-year-old son who would like to submit an idea.

Could you develop orcas and rays. The orcas would live in the sea and the rays (their prey) would live in rocky bays. Some orcas will live in the rocky bays too. 

You would be able to tame an orca and ride it. Orca babies would go with their mum to hunt and let you use a name tag to name the orcas and the rays too. You would be able to keep pet rays.

Please do it as I will be so happy and have lots of other ideas to share.

    Orcas and Rays are amazing creatures that would be awesome to have in Minecraft.

    Please note, riding an Orca would likely not be implemented.  Riding dolphins is not allowed in Minecraft because these wild animals don't necessary enjoy it, and is often seen as a byproduct of their capture and confinement.  This is different from Horses that have become domesticated creatures and show signs they like being ridden provided they have humans who take care of them.

    I do like your suggestions though.  Great creativity.  I love petting rays at the aquarium.

    If you add in orcas, you could use it as an opportunity to teach people about them (kind of like with parrots being poisoned by cookies). You can make orcas curious and play with characters, not attack them, because too many people think that orcas are viciouse creatures that will kill them. Only captive orcas have been known to purposely attack humans and their have been been no know deaths due to orcas in the wild and only a few accidents, all of which can be understood as not on purpose. They are just a playful and actually nicer to eachother and humans than other dolphins.

    My point is, you could do something good for the animals in real life by adding them in the game. 👍🏽😀

    Orcas are my favorite animal, I would love to see them in minecraft. I would suggest they be larger than dolphins and swim only in deeper ocean and are rare, traveling in small groups, each ocean only having one or two groups depending on the biome size

    Orca and Manta Rays are great ideas! And I'd love to ride Orcas! They're both such cool majestic animals. Orcas are super intelligent too. Love it.

    Minecraft doesn’t include all the animals that exist in real life.  It only has a select few.  Orcas and manta rays are too obscure to be included in Minecraft.  If Minecraft gets too many animals, it would be too confusing.  I like it that Minecraft is simple and consistent.

    I love Orcas, but I wouldn't feel complete without that unique bond they have. Their social structures are so amazing! And the females live for a very long time to become grandmothers and great grandmothers to the others in their pod. If they could implement that it would be so cool!

    Rays are also something that would be very interesting and put some life into the oceans other than sea turtles, fish, and dolphins.

    I absolutely adore the idea of having Orcas! I don't think we should be able to ride them though as they are wild animals. Maybe they could be found in the colder biomes or in deep oceans and swim in family pods. They could eat fish and seals, and they could be like wolfs were they don't bother you or mind you, until you attack them.

    orcas are my favorite animals it would be wonderful to go on a boat and just go through the water and encounter a pod of orcas that will be so cool

    Yesss!!!! im so glad this is under review! I have loved orcas since, well, forever! and i would be so glad if they were added into Minecraft!

    cantonio10 you know that orcas are also a type of dolphin? Their name was also meant to be whale killer, but it was mistranslated to killer whale

    Reflecting on this idea i think we could develop a Armour set like what Mojang did with the Turtle Shell Helmet Orca Chestplate Manta Ray Leggings and whatever kind of boots infinite water breathing if ur using the full set

    Orcas could eat fish, dolphins (!), (Rarely) turtles and squid. Manta Rays could eat fish, and same for stingrays. 

    Pretty neat idea, I just don't think the Orcas should be rideable and the rays shouldn't be able to be tamed. I love this idea, though!

    Why must everything be tamable!? Not every animal in the universe wants to be your pet. Only 6 animals are currently tamable in minecraft (Dogs, Cats, Parrots, Horses, Donkeys, Mules) and that is because these animals are tamable in real life. I wouldn't advise adding rays because the phantom texture is too similar, but maybe Orcas if they were smaller

    Orcas may have a very rare variant like the pandas,the albino orca.Orcas are neutral,if you hit them,they will hurt you:with 4.5 heart damage in normal mode...they spawn only in Cold and Frozen oceans with almost 80 blocks away from the coast;this because in the lukewarm and warm oceans we have so much animals.Orcas have a less speed than the dolphins,they jump in the superface of the sea,and if you drop them a fish,they take and eat it,and they will be tamed.

    Orcas are amazing creatures and would be awesome to have in Minecraft.

    Just letting you know the riding part will most likely not be added due to orcas not enjoying it in real life.

    Manta rays should be rideable but not actually ridden but kind of like dolphins grace where you can kind of hold on to them and swim faster, maybe tamable though, its a little un realistic . Taming orcas is insane and it would be cool to add in but none of these things should be possible. The shouldn't be super hostile unless you get close enough. Mantas shouldn't be able to breed though, they should just do it on their own.

    I would like to see something that you can ride underwater in the ocean. Currently if you want to go at a reasonable speed, you have to be at the surface of the water with a boat.
