Add hammers to break block without obtaining the block .

Its uncomfortable when you are mining and you get your inventory full of cobblestone, the hammers would break blocks in the same ways as pickaxe except that the block broken by the hammer is not dropped. Its disgusting to throw useless blocks from your inventory each moment.

  Sounds like a silly problem to have... I wouldn’t agree with this change. Maybe use TNT to clear out space?

  MacchuPicchu96  ,would you like to use stacks and stacks of tnt to explore a mine?, with the chance that the tnt destroy the ores, the slow that it would be, and the destruction it would cause....etc.

  Of course not, TNT isn't a great solution. But honestly... throwing out blocks takes mere seconds of your time and is a total nonissue imho.

  I think having to decide what to do with the blocks is part of mining.  Personally, I save them.  I would rather take the time to save them than to have to mine them as needed later.  But it's also not that much work to throw them away to despawn or even throw them in lava.  If you don't want to do that level of work, fill your inventory with the empty stacks of the blocks that you want to keep so that they will fill as you go along.

  I believe it should mine a 3x3 area. I know this is completely contrary to your point. To the extent of actually making the problem you proposed worse but I feel the hammer should be a more powerful mining tool.

  Perhaps the ability to disintegrate blocks could be an enchantment? It should also have access to a higher tier of knockback. Just a thought.
