    I think it’s a great idea.

    i have pet rats and they sit on my shoulder sometimes so i think rats should sit on your shoulder too.

    To make them a bit different I think rats and guinea pigs should have 3 health and attack what you attack after being tamed.

    i think mice should have 2 health and attack what you attack after being tamed.

    hamsters should have 2 health but don’t attack what you attack.

    gerbils have 1 health and attack what you attack

    Rats should spawn together and be tamed with pumpkin seeds (my rats loooooooooooove pumpkin seeds)if you attack 1 of them they all attack you when they breed they have 5-20 babies they can be fed but not tamed by other seeds,wheat, they are also tamed with bones, dandelion and watermelon.

    i used to have a hamster so i think that it should attack other hamsters and be tamed with dandelion if you put a flower pot near it it will go in and in 30 seconds it will be tame.

    What if after you tame a hamster, you can craft a hamster wheel for it, and the faster your hamster runs, the larger the redstone output. I think this would add a reason for them to be in the game.

    Here's my idea for the crafting recipe.

    I=iron bars R=redstone dust. * =blank space.

                              * I *

                              I * I

                             R I R

    Make them eat food in chests like they do in real life and other food can get contaminated

    I also think mice should be added. The mice could be a new challenge for Minecrafters who are into farming, in that they spawn in villages or near the players' farms and eat the crops. The mice could bend their head like a sheep does, when they are above the crop, and then break it. They will then then run away with the crop in their mouths, like a foxes do, until it is far enough away from a village or player, and eat it. Iron golems could attack the mice to keep them out of villages, and fences could keep them out of the players' farms. They could eat: All types of seeds, wheat, carrots, potatoes, and beetroot.

    I would also like to see mousetraps these could be crafted with a sword and a bowl. You could use a mousetrap to keep mice away from your food chests. You could also train mice as pets. Click the trap to open it and put a piece of food in it this will lure the mouse to the trap.

    I think if mojang likes this they should only choose 1 or 2 rodents to be added because there's like a million on there (btw i love guinea pigs)

    I would love it if minecraft added guinea pigs , it would be cool if they added them. They could seek out treasure chests and lead you to them, because in real life guinea pigs dig and search for food . They would also make good and very cute pets . I really hope that minecraft adds guinea pigs to the game . 🐹

    Rats are well known for being able to chew through some very tough materials, so I thought that they could be made to become a sort of automatic miner that many people have been wanting. There would be a "carrot" and a "stick" incentive to get them to mine. The "carrot" method would be if they want something. For example, if they want food they may mine through blocks to get it. The "stick" method is when they do it to escape. If rats are cornered and you are attacking them they may mine through blocks to get away. They may also have inventories to hold the blocks they mine, although they could just drop them. If they are tamed they may bring the blocks back to you

    To contrast the cute aspect of them, wild rats may carry diseases or have fleas which can spread to other mobs

    These could be used to automatically “clean” overloaded or backlogged sorting systems ie. they should “eat” dropped items even the ones you dropped when you die (as rats eat corpses) this would force players to use beds even more

    Could chinchillas be included as well? I love chinchillas and I've always wanted one as a pet. I really like this idea!

    I think they should drop rodent meat and nothing else, be hunted by ocelots and cats and my last sugestion is that mice should spawn in the overlworld and attack crops, the more crops the more mice and rats should spawn in caves and mine shafts, atatcking in groups mobs whit very low health player included, if the player plant crops bellow the surfice they would act the same as mice

    I would love this, they should also have cages you can put them in and take them out of it, that would be a fun little decorative item.

    With rodents, I think they should just be mice or rats, and be considered a nuisance. They could eat food off of camp fires, or nibble on edible blocks like melons or kelp, or have a random chance to take an organic item from a chest accessible to them, requiring you to either build your chest room rat proofed or somewhere they dont spawn, in early game. Once you get some cats or even an ocelot/fox they would basically create a kind of area of effect that repels them from the area, and will catch them.

    They shouldnt drop anything, like endermites, silverfish or bees. Like fish they can be kept in a tank or enclosure, and their pathfinding should be good enough to race them in mazes. Maybe you could tame them as a kind of ambient pet, which means your other animals wouldnt aggro them, and they would simply run around like a chicken. You could leash them. The Ravager could be spooked by them? Sounds funny.

    Owls are under consideration, and if so you could have them hunt them at night (or just 24/7).

    Theyre basically ambient mobs like bats, but with deeper mechanics. Their annoying presence would essentially simulate food spoilage, and their utility in builds and roleplay would be immense (pet shops, dungeons, sewers, labs, pets, zoos, rat mazes, elaborate mouse traps etc), as well as provide emergent gameplay with their interactions with other mobs.

    I would even settle for them to be completely useless like Bats, or even a particle effect type thing underground or in dungeons, etc

    Rats should live in almost all biomes , they should be considered a pest as they multiply quickly and would affect agriculture , I support rats in the game , it will become more realistic as real lifeRats should live in almost all biomes , they should be considered a pest as they multiply quickly and would affect agriculture , I support rats in the game , it will become more realistic as real life
