NOTICE

Are you sure you want to report this?

When you are making your redstone suggestions, please note that Java and Bedrock will not have the exact same the same redstone systems - this would require redoing redstone system completely on one platform or the other. The two systems are functionally different and are going to stay that way. Please be sure to tag your suggestions with (Java) or (Bedrock).

I can see why you would want it, but it would make zero sense in terms of hoppers because of the open bin aspect of the design.  To get the ability to use hopper-like items to transport items upwards, it's better to add a new item.  It just so happens that I have two suggestions like that. xP

Those two suggestions would be this one (https://feedback.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/community/posts/360011186551-Inverted-Hoppers) and probably this one (https://feedback.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/community/posts/360009377672-Item-transport-tubes-). Worth looking at for sure

Yes, this! Plus support for adding a "target" item below each of the hoppers 5 inventory slots so we can optionally force hoppers to accept between 1-5 types of items we specify. Item elevators and redstone based hopper filtering currently requires complicated over-sized redstone contraptions that are difficult to fit into builds (and you still won't be able to sort bows from boots).

Streamlining / simplifying some of the common redstone needs is not a sell out - it paves the way for more elaborate contraptions and opens the doors for younger players to become redstone engineers.  Both are a good thing.

Yes we need this. It doesn't have to be a separate item. If placed upside-down the "open bin" would be facing down and "sucking" items from underneath it.

I would use the "pipes" that were suggested in another post, instead of this.
