The colour you flash, while taking damage, should depend on the type of damage you take, instead of always taking a red flash.
For example
Magic would have it's own colour, maybe purple
Fire/heat based damage would have a colour, like orange.
Projectiles could have brown
Falling/starvation/miscellaneous should be red.
Melee, grey.
But that's just my categorisation.
It's supposed to just be a small visual cue, to the type of damage someone has taken, and a cool feature that adds some variation to the game.
