/setbiome ~ ~ ~ [biome]
I think this command would be really useful for mapmaking, and provides an alternative to using worldedit and things like that. This would be super useful if you wanted to create a biome somewhere, or simply change the colour of the grass in your area.

I also think this is a good suggestion, because it is too much trouble to use modifiers to modify biomes outside of the game.
/biome
set x z x z <biome>
radius <block-radius>
replace x y z x y z <biome>
structure <add|remove> x z x z <structure>
locate <biome>
variant <biome -variant>
fill x z x z <block>
help
YAAASSSSSSSSSS! I know there are mods for this kind of thing but as someone who has historically found that stuff VERY hard to work with, you have no idea how much this would help me! This NEEDS TO HAPPEN!
Key: # = number [ ] = optional < > = replace x # y # z # = coordinates
Posable syntax:
/biome whole [x z] <Biome Name> [<Biome Variant>] [Fill]
(Sets the whole biome at the specified coordinates to another biome, not just 1 block)
/biome chunk [x z] <Biome Name> [<Biome Variant>] [Fill]
(Sets the chunk's biome at the specified coordinates to another biome)
/biome fill x1 z1 x2 z2 <Biome Name> [<Biome Variant>] [Fill]
(Sets the area's biome to another biome)
I think it should be written like this:
/biome ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ [biome]
YES!!
It is so annoying for me, Im on a wild west server we are building and I've terraformed lots of land to desert and we had to disable weather so it didnt snow and we cant build rivers some places because they freeze over. I wish you could just change one areas biomes weather. its just one value isnt it?
Instead of a command, maybe a creative only item would be useful as you could have certain buttons activate certain menus so that no one changing is easier
YEAH!
Would be great for mapping or experimenting with worlds
For sure! Great for mapmaking
This would be super helpful to have in world building
I totally need this for my world
It can be better if it uses [x1] [y1] [z1] [x2] [y2] [z2] (like /fill command) to change the biome of a selected area
Can we add realms with one pay ments plz then I can afford one
I think it should be /fillbiome X Y Z X2 Y2 Z2 {BiomeID;Swamp}
And another on being /setbiome 15 {BiomeID;Swamp}
I say this because setbiome would have a radius based on the number and the fill biome would make it more boxy.
It is still a good idea and whoever is scrolling down please vote
With the Announcement of the nether update and (I heard this, but I'm not sure where this came from) it would suppoort 3D biomes, it's possible this command would come in that update as it would make sense to add it after they change how biomes are processed sense it would effect the command.
This would be extremely useful in superflat worlds
Ooooh yes I’d love this. Because I want to make a map with islands in the sky of varying different biomes, and it is currently impossible to do so as biomes are so big, and I want these islands right next to each other, close enough to build a bridge less than 20 blocks across from one to another. When you cross a border, it’s like you’re stepping into a new realm. Epic!
I totally agree with you
Maybe /setbiome ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~, kind of like the /fill command. I really need to change the colour of the grass in the Mesa
I really like this idea! It's been a pain to use MCEdit for things like this.
/setbiome would change the current biome your in /fillbiome would change x:value z:value x2 and z2
it would be cool for other biome releated commands like /biomerule <Disable_Raids | doinsomia | do mob spawning >
Yes! This would be amazing I was about to actually post the same idea then I saw someone already posted it. But right now I'm making a game and I would really love to use this Cuz I'm making different biomes in it. I hope it gets added it would be really nice!
[x z]:
The coordinates of a column of blocks somewhere in the biome/chunk that is going to get changed. If excluded, it is the x z coordinates of the command's execution.
<Biome Name>:
The name of the biome that the biome/chunk/area is going to get changed into.
[Fill]:
If you type "fill", the command re-generates the biome (this might make it above or below ground level)
[<Biome Variant>]:
One of these options: (leave out for random)
has [<list>]
(the biome must have these variants, but can have more. Always has the base biome)
!has [<list>]
(The biome can't have these variants. Has the base biome unless it was in the list.)
only [<list>]
