    I just hate the idea of a vinyl recorder when there's already noteblocks. maybe a noteblock string of music can be recorded attaching the circuit with a jupebox already having the empty disc.when the music in the contraption is over the redstone sends the signal and the empty disc pops out recorded the music.

    Some of these ideas have already been said by some comments:

    The "Recorder Block" could be craftable with diamond, maybe redstone, amethyst shards and a sculk sensor;
    Only if it has a "Record disk" and powered by a redstone signal will activate;
    Also, a "Recorder on Minecart" should start to record when it passes through a activator rail, and stops when it passes another time;
    The disks used to record maybe have to be found in end cities only;
    "Sign" a disk will lock it. Meaning that you have to find another one to record again;
    Only sounds of noteblocks could be recorded;
    The Recorder itself should be easier to get rather than disks, like for decorative purposes.
    The Recorder should be able to record many different noteblocks sounds at same time.
    "Record disks" shouldn't lock when the Recorder stops, meaning that you can try different times to improve the recorded disk sound.
    "Locked recorded disks" should stack and can be duplicated in anvils with a non locked disk.

    Recording noteblocks music and sounds will be a great mechanic to the gameplay. We already have a way to make custom paints with maps, and if we can do the same with music, the game will be a lot more artistic and fun.

    I think the different instruments should be the different note blocks, so it would give note block music creators an interesting way to make music. While making it portable and such.

    You can make custom music discs if you go into the Minecraft files and delete a music disc recording and replace it with an OGG file of your own.  I made lots of my music discs into my favorite country songs.

    I'm with you on this, but I feel like the creation of the music should be more similar to how map art is created, where the initial builds are in the world. You could connect the recorder to the note block redstone or just put in in the vicinity to record. The discs could be named, dyed, and (like maps) copied. They could have the original creator on them and whether they are an original or copy.

    This would make note blocks useless, and besides, with all the different instruments it's only a matter of time before people start using it to say curse words.

    Amazing idea! I was actually just about to write something like this, but what if we make it so it requires iron to craft the vinyl recorder, that way it’ll look better and be even more valuable.

    I love this idea! But the one thing wrong about this is that these days, most kids HATE learning other than learning on Baldi's Basics. so what would be a better idea to make the device record whatever noise is playing nearby in the real world. So in that case I can tell my Alexa to play Halsey and Minecraft would record everything on the disc! so I can listen to Halsey while building my house explicit or not!
