Maybe you could place the beehive in a composter and the bees wold generate slowly honey for you. But you need to place flowers around it.

I love this idea, as well as some additions in this comment section. Bees should definitely be beneficial near garden's and should probably be passive unless provoked since real honey bees tend to be docile--depending on the subspecies as there are a few exceptions. I didn't like the idea of a queen bee being a mini boss because typically the queen bee doesn't fight. That's what the worker bees are for. But hey this is just a ameture beekeeper's opinion. Still think it's a great idea.

i think we can also make the bees inflict a poison status like the pufferfish (but maybe not so deadly) to make collecting honey more challenging and as real life bees can trigger an allergic reaction to most people

Instead or dropping the hive, it should drop honeycomb with can be smelted into honey or 9 can be crated into a bee hive. If you "plant" the hive in/near your house, they wont attack you.

So bees sometimes when they go to high up they freeze and also if you drink honey bottle in creative you loose the honey so it turns back to a glass bottle.

after seeing it in the game it feels like a mod and just doesn't feel like it fits in the game and I don't think this is really what should be focused on right this second everyone has been asking for combat commands, vertical slabs, and a revamp to caves and the nether for years but Mojang has been turning down those ideas I think if Mojang worked on what is most asked first then the smaller thing like this mob then more people would be happy with the game and Mojang would have less people on them nonstop I feel like they have realized this by now and should just go with it.

The bees look awful and I hate them. They look like they belong to a different game completely. Remove them from minecraft, they're terrible.

I'm a bit unclear as to where to put this comment, I hope this is the right spot, but...

Like Suspicious Stew, I suggest that bee nests/hives make different honey based on the pollen used to make it.  Thus having honey pollinated by dandelions giving a different benefit from honey pollinated by roses.  It could be a plurality or majority of pollinations required to give a special effect, or even requiring it ALL to be the same, and thus only something you get if you set out to do it, vs finding in the wild.

One idea would be that eating honey made with wither rose pollen would provide some immunity from the wither effect, in the same way that local honey is supposed to help reduce allergic reactions to the nearby pollen.  We could also see something like a more fulfilling honey, onion honey could slightly deter mobs (cause you smell bad, stinky) or something to attract mobs.

Bees are great. But huge. And where's larva? I suggest that the current baby Bees should be the size of all Bees. And when breeding Bees - they return to their hive and give it a "larva" tag. The "larva" would consume one or two honey levels of the hive before emerging as a Bee. Maybe this could only work with Bee Hives and not Bee Nests? Giving a benefit to harvesting Honey Combs

Awesome new mob! A few thoughts. What about a large multiblock beehive structure: rare like strongholds, mansions, ect, spawns with many bees kinda, made of paper block for outside surface and honeycomb block on inside, also pools of honey which can be picked up with bucket or bottle. Honey as a liquid block: slow and viscous, you can get stuck like in a spiderweb. Queen bee: Large hostile boss mob, found in large beehive, could have special ability like laying eggs, causes surrounding bees to be hostile

I think beeswax should be able to be used to make candles combined with string! Wax blocks, honeycomb blocks, even?

Since bees were added, I'm not sure if this is a good place to put this, but change "The Parrots and the Bats" achievement to "The Parrots and the Bees"?

first off bees don't reproduce that way XD

    Here I have some ideas.

There should be 1 queen bee and 3 workers inside a beehive/nest.(if a worker dies they can respawn on a set timer, maybe 2 ingame days)

To transfer a queen bee from a nest to a beehive there should be a empty behive nearby and a campfire close to the nest/hive you want the queen to get out of.(workers should surround the bee when transferring because they protect their queen)

The queen bee should be the size of the normal bee, and the workers should be half that size or the size of the "baby bee" (not sure about the size of the worker because it could be too difficult to a player to hit it with a sword, unless they have sweeping edge)

To get a new queen be there should be 2 nest/hives with a queen inside of them and a empty one nearby and a minimum amount of flowers around the area for the new queen bee to spawn and inhabit the empty beehive.

Edit: The queen bee is the only mob that haves a drop maybe honeycombs.(workers only drop xp)

Bees move slower in the rain.

Bees should be smaller? The current baby bees could be what adult bees look like in the future, and future baby bees could be larvae which pop out whenever a bee nest is destroyed.

Title: Bees + Suspicious Stew Status Effects

Suggestion 1: Pollinated Bees apply flower specific (suspicious stew equivalent) status effects when stinging a player.

Example 1: Tulips, being very common, make it very likely that when a swarm of bees attack you, weakness will be applied to the player.

Post Script: Perhaps this type of mechanic could be worked into beenests/beehives as well, making it a farmable mechanic...as well as making it the only way you can get certain potion effects such as blindness or wither.

I think the new bees would go great with my idea here

    https://feedback.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/community/posts/360048223331-Flower-Breeding

The bees could spread pollen around and crossbreed different flowers.

Bees should be able to cause more of the flower they pollinated to grow (similar to how they grow crops up a stage, they'd cause new flowers to plant in the area they fly over), essentially duplicating the flower. In Minecraft you can farm tall flowers by using bonemeal on the bottom half of the tall flower, but there's never been a method for gathering tons and tons of single-block-tall flowers (other than going to their biome of origin and getting lucky with bonemeal).

It'd be amazing to be able to raise bees that will grow new flowers based on the flower type you influenced them to pollinate. Imagine all the dye you could make, it'd be bee-utiful. (and if you somehow gave them enough instant health potions to provide Wither Roses, you could probably farm those too, although super inefficiently).

Unrelated to this concept but relating to flowers, I also am a huge fan of this idea posted earlier today https://feedback.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/community/posts/360011098932/comments/360007207951 I love this idea (bee stings giving a suspicious stew effect based on the flower they pollinated)

I love the Bees how they are! They're a little large, I'll admit. But Spider's aren't exactly life sized either. Might I suggest the ability to use honey as a potion ingredient? Perhaps it could give a 10 second flight effect when combined with phantom membrane (Maybe an effect like "Blessing of the winged ones"?). Or honey could just have lots of saturation, or maybe even swiftness (since the active ingredient in swiftness potions is sugar)

This was an awesome suggestion!! It stinks that I didn't see it sooner. So glad bees, honey, honey combs, bee nests and what's in the game files not in the snapshot being a wax block and crystalized honey! All looks incredible and so glad you made this suggestion. They're finally being added to the game! YAY!!

Also, I wonder if there will be bears in the game like in your suggestion! Hopefully! Let's have our fingers crossed!

There should be a Queen Bee instead of Breeding 2 bees to make it more realistic, and if the Queen dies a different Bee becomes the new Queen. And you feed the Queen Instead or have it were after some time another Bee will exist.

One thing for sure I can't (Bee)lieve there are now bees. It's awesome now to an-ts.

Please make bees have a larger role in farming! Perhaps bees can pollinate crops but need to collect more pollen from them to fill the hive than they would flowers. Maybe give pollinations a chance to make new small flowers appear as well, since they're currently very difficult to renew.

The bees should deal far. far more damage than they currently do. They only get one sting, and they're the size of cats. That's a LOT of venom.

I am worried, however, that these are more or less completely automated food generators. They need some sort of natural threats from other mobs that can attack or steal from hives, or something else that makes them a bit more than food dispensers.

There needs to be more honey related items and blocks. Also Bee Hive (should be Apiary) is job block for Beekeeper with job toggle, as other job blocks should have. Honey should attract bears, which bees hate. Also a new item called a smoker should be added which keep all Bees in a certain area will remain peaceful regardless of what you do. If you eat honey comb you get wax which can be used for candles and can be turned off and on. Honey can be put in a cauldron. Honey can be used to substitute slime. Please add on to this.

Bees are a good idea but can you please make them not have an ugly texture and be massive? Why are they larger than bats?
