Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

    The only one who can edit the sign is THE PLAYER WHO PLACED IT, in order to not edit the sign by other players when you upload the map

    Yeeeeesssss I always find it so annoying when I type something incorrectly and have to break the sign and type it again!

    What about not only having editable signs but movable ones as well? What if you put the sign in the wrong place? Wouldn't it be helpful if you could move the sign to the correct place as well?

    Maybe a better way is to add a ‘quill’ (made from a feather and ink sack) that can be used on a sign to change the text. The quil will also be used to make the ‘book and quil’

    What if you could crouch and click on the sign with a feather?

    This would be especially helpful for Minecraft PE as it is much easier to mistype/submit the text too soon than on other platforms.

    Make it so you can "lock" the sign to stop others from editing it

    @HunterArrow17

    That's true, but if you type out a whole sign and click Submit, and then find that you have a typo, it would be so much easier to right-click and fix the typo than to break the sign have rewrite everything.

    @Zorro8183 Well if we had rewritable signs that would be less of a problem because you could click to rewrite it and press CTRL+A to select the text and then click CTRL+C to copy it and then destroy the sign and then replace it and then press CTRL+V to paste it.

    Another thing to add on to this: Being able to produce many signs with the same text. Basically if you were able to place a sign and write on it, and then it retained it's text, so you could potentially place multiple signs with the same message. I'm not sure how this mechanic would work, but mass-production of signs would be good for multiplayer servers, if someone wants to leave a message at everyone's house, but doesn't want to write it out many times.

    If implemented, wouldn't it be easier to just place an empty sign and click afterwards to write something on it? I find it annoying to build something with signs and always have to close the UI.

    The best solution to editing a sign is by right-clicking it with another sign.

    Because when writing signs, you usually have more than one on you anyway, so this way you won't need a new/unrelated item to be able to fix accidental typos.

    If the right-click feature to edit the sign were possible with an empty hand, you would be able to accidentally enter edit mode if you're just passing by and misclicked.
