I have a solution for this that I sent to Mojang.  I would have submitted it here, but I can't submit PDFs.

Honestly, I don't agree, and I think the opposite should be true again, because I find it kind of funny when there are floating islands in mountains, and really random biomes (such as snow next to desert, as you mentioned) just placed randomly.

Personally I would like to see a change in how mountains generate. It always bothered me that the extreme hills biomes never really took advantage of the game's full height limit. I just want to see a magnificent mountain range that doesn't get easily dwarfed by something I build (or that just looks cool in the distance).

Alternatively, Mojang could create a whole new biome (Mountain Biome) that would coexist with the extreme hills biome.

I like this idea, and if anyone still wants snowy next to deserts, maybe there can be a custom worldgen option for that

Release 1.7 (Java edition version number) made awkward biome combinations less frequent, but I think I prefer the pre-Beta 1.8 method of making biome temperature dependent on the z-coordinate.

I would like this to be added, but there should also be an option to toggle the world generation we currently have on or off, if on, the world can have weird biome generations (including a bizarre snow and desert biome next to each other), if off, the realistic generations would occur instead.

Yes we need more realistic generation . I saw a frosty ocean next to a desert.

I honestly think that should maybe be its own world generation option.

I can't reply to comments, so I'll have to post here (this is meant as a reply to Jose Hernandez's comment on March 23, 2019 at 02:09 EST).

There is already an existing biome that you might be thinking about, and it's called the shattered savanna, but it's quite rare, so it's worth the find.

Actually in real life, there are desert biomes located right next to a snow biomes like near and on the Tibetian Plateau.

What I would like is to have the biomes generated more realistic as wholes. Mountains being really mountains and plains being real plains. So far we have biomes that are very often broken by too many little water pools and lava pools or canvases and cave entrances.

I would also like rivers to be more river-like.

No Minecraft is good without being realistic actually i think Minecraft is becoming too realistic

As someone who tries to build with a focus on realism, I find it extremely awkward working in a desert biome surrounded by frozen oceans. This, or otherwise some way to change a biome without external tools, could be a welcome change.

Probably the globe would only be for education edition, doesn't fit with regular Minecraft.

I like this idea but my old worlds then would be glitched out then there Is a building cut in half because the new terrain starts and that’s the only bad thing

And perhaps realistic mountain generation? (can be sorted into a new world generation option, because that takes a lot of performance)

What really bothers me is that biomes on the sea and the land don't correspond with each other. At the very least, it would be good if there was a "realistic" world generation setting which would stop very different biomes from being able to spawn in next to each other.

Thats a good idea, biome generation needs to be fixed

already in game, they never generated next to each other so i don't know why people say they do

I absolutely love this idea, but it should definitely be optional because some people want weird biome worlds.
