This should happen, or at least makes sense to because it is already possible on Bedrock. Making the two versions more inclusive and similar would be good for the Minecraft community.

This will never happen to be honest :(

I agree with this, though what most people are concerned is causing this to not happen is the fact that with more pixels the more detailed dirty skins can be made. But I believe they could implement a system to where they could have the skin checked to make sure nothing dirty is being shown, it would probably make changing a skin take longer but that is really worth being able to have the same pixel amount as bedrock edition. of course this is just my opinion, but I seriously would LOVE to have this be added, for us skin makers and role players to have more detailed characters.

I will be so happy if this happens. I have been spending the last 2 weeks trying to resize my minecraft skins from 128x128 to 64x64 I hate to say this but the 128x128 skins are way nicer and the 64x64 skins put my avatar to shame. They really need to fix the skin resolution because this is completely terrible.

This already exists on Bedrock. It supports both 64x and 128x textures. At the same time, I'd like to suggest maybe extra sizes. Even if the image dimensions are different, it's still reading the exact same areas, so i don't see why it's an issue

If there are already higher resolution skins in Bedrock edition, I would guess that the issue isn't censorship. If it's an aesthetic or technical problem, there could be a low-res and a high-res skin slot, to allow 'downgrades' when necessary?

The increase of pixels are aleady added to Minecraft Pocket Edition so why not on the Java Edition too. It would improve the detial of all the skins and as well as making both of the Editions even.

I think the reason they haven’t done that yet is because of the “dirty” skins, but tbh, I rarely see any? Even if I do see some, they get banned.

However, I do think there is a way to get around people doing those skins and that’s the parental controls, have them set it to where only Steve and Alex can be seen.

I’ve made quite a few 128x128 skins and I was so upset when I found out that it’s not supported on pc (that’s what I play on). I get the concerns of people not wanting dirty skins, but let’s be real, it’s not hard to stop that from happening.

Make 128x128 a thing please. The restrain on the 64x64 is umbearable. Theres so many little but needed details that other 64 bits could improve... Minecraft needs this.

It will be good if you could use 128 x 128 skins in java

One of the main things I love doing on minecraft is choosing a skin I enjoy, but its difficult when you can't do much with 64 x 64 pixels. PE skins that have 128 x 128 pixels are so creative and I love them so much! I do roleplays a lot on minecraft and the fact I can't find any useful skins really upsets me. tbh i would try and do anything for 128 x 128 skins on java

More pixels just means more detailed censored parts.

I disagree, it would ruin the feel of minecraft. I get that you want new features and changes to the looks of the game, but in my opinion, it just doesn't suit minecraft at all.

They have it in bedrock, it probably won't happen because Microsoft doesn't want to do much with java and only gave it to bedrock.

Yeah! Add more detailed skins, pls! Bedrock edition has it for Android, iPhone and Windows 10, why not on Java Edition. I mean Bedrock detailed skins can be put on on your computer, why not with the Java Edition of the game. Bedrock literally sucks Mojang! So why do you add perks to that, for more money?

This would be nice if it were added to the Java Edition of Minecraft.
not only you would have that single only option of 64 bit pixel skins but the 128 would be there too.
Even for the people that would prefer to play on Java rather than the pocket edition to Minecraft.
If the 128 pixel option was added to Java, players wouldn't have to rely on their game to be modded with forge or fabric for one mod that i know makes it possible, and that's the Custom Skin Loader.
If anyone would know how it works that is, unless you try searching on YouTube for it.
However, if you were to use this mod while in a multiplayer server, everyone else I'm sure that isn't using it or doesn't have the mod installed will have the same skin on as you do when using the Custom Skin Loader mod.
Think it would be the same regardless if the other player has the exact same file version and Forge version for their Minecraft.
I don't know if that's how it works, I have not tested that theory if the other players own skin will show if you both do have the same file and Forge version.

Really hate that they downsized the skin resolutions. Skins look like garbage now without all the room for extra details. I can't believe Mojang actually went ahead and thought that making them smaller was a good idea.

I honestly think it is a bad idea, because higher resolution skins don't really feel too Minecraft-y anymore. They mostly look like they came from a Minecraft clone/ripoff and it really wouldn't fit in the game because to make it look right you would have to increase block resolution to 32x which is modifying the game far, far too much.

guys what do you think gives an idea of minecraft bedrock skins to increase the pixels in 256x256 or 512x512 to not have problems with dirty skins they put a type of reader or a check so that this type of skin was not accepted in minecraft ??? ×_× 🕶

I made a really cool 128 by 128 skin however i can't use it because of size restrictions so this would be awesome.

And there's something else , if 128x128 skins are supported in java , skins with pixel opacity less than 255 should also be supported in bedrock , because if you try to put a skin with lower opacity on bedrock it will automatically switch those places to opacity level 255 .

I wouldn't like it because the skins would look out of place with the actual game
