an item that glows the closer you get to certain ores (like diamonds) that can only be obtained by going through a new underground structure like a larger dungeon

I think the nether should have rubies strong as a tool but weak as armour or maybe have just ironish power but really good durability

Yes. Caves should have biomes. Mojang should put a LARGE amount of effort into making some proper cave biomes.

Each cave biome should have unique amounts of different materials and ores, unique shapes for material/ore structures/veins, unique structures/rules for structures, and unique mob spawning/mobs.

Increase world depth. Bedrock comes too soon, and the world seems to have too little space. Make things vast, and create room to add more ores and new cave systems/ underground structures.

You could add things that were previously in a game but deleted later, like Ruby (worse than diamond but better than iron) and a helmet with a flashlight. Im the type of player that doesn't like going to the caves beacuse they are dark and scary, so what about ores that glow in darkness? (without touching them) Maybe you could add some more use to bats? It would also be nice to see refreshed version of spawner rooms. (one of them is basically a cobblestone box). The word "mine" is a part of a game so I think this update is really important

We need new metals / gems. Weather they are decorative or combat useful. Some ideas I have for metals are copper, Titanium, zinc, and Tin. For gems Ruby, Garnet, Amber, citrine, Hiddenite, Verdelite, Aquamarine, Sapphire, Tanzanite, Onyx, Opal, Dravite, and Flint finally getting its own ore. Maybe in caves we can get glow worms that drop a goo like substance that lets you brew a potion of Haste. Also we could get vampires that drop a fang rarely that can craft a potion of nausea. It would be cool if their was a stone creature like the weeping angels from doctor who. Maybe also their could be underwater lakes with angler fishes and Axolotls. The axolotls could be a pet while the angler fish could drop a angler scale that could make a potion of hunting which would increase attack speed.

    1. Raise the height limit again, anywhere from 64-256 blocks to accommodate for larger caves and a deeper underground
    2. Put sea level at a higher level, respective to how high you raise the world height limit
    3. Allow items such as cobblestone, stone, snow, sand, sandstone dirt, gravel, granite, andesite, diorite, and other common blocks to stack anywhere from 128-256 per stack, allowing for extra inventory space for things like current and new ores
    4. Add another 9 inventory slots, and/or a craftable backpack or loot bag to help carry gems and ores
    5. Biome specific caves with biome specific blocks. I would love to see the underground snowy tundra be filled with packed snow (a new block idea) and ice/packed ice, or the badlands with terracotta layered far underground. That alone would help caves have a unique flavor to them

    6. Make the bottom 25-50 blocks (depending on how high the world height limit is raised) a hardened stone, that is much harder to mine, making strip mining less viable
    7. Along with #6, rework ore generation. Instead of making all ores generally more common the deeper you go, add layers. Allow diamonds to spawn commonly at the deepest levels, and iron to be more common at mid levels. Make ore pockets less common but much larger
    8. I would love to see vast caverns (by the magnitude of 10-50 blocks tall and 50-500 blocks long/wide, similar to how ravines spawn at different sizes) where lots of ores are exposed and mobs can spawn. Large, spacious caves that are hard to light would make it exciting but challenging without proper gear
    9. Add a difficulty curve to depth, or add an optional mode where the deeper underground you go, the tougher mobs get, adding to the challenge of venturing for more precious ores and blocks
    10. Add some more ores, please! Add a new function to the blast furnace as well, where you input two ingots of differing metals to create new allows (similar to how brewing works) Ores like copper, which drops a dust and can be used in tandem with redstone functions, being able to be used directly next to redstone but not connect to it. Zinc, tin, platinum, onyx, and other new and unique metals that can be combined to create alloys like steel and titanium. Please make gold useful too! It's virtually worthless in terms of tools and armor

Who thinks that an underground Village that's in the caves would be cool.

You could have a villager that works in the caverns and have like a mineshaft, then you can out abandoned mine shafts with a village with that professions table in it. It could be an entity that actually mines out a cavern and puts more things in his chests, like cobblestone, not something that’s to rare, maybe iron. And you could make so the iron golem attacks you when you open a village chest. I love the idea of a cave update and would like some new ores. The honey block is a very nice new block and I would like more blocks that SPCA’s be used for Redstone contraptions like, a suggestion is a magnetic block, and it would only make sense to craft it with iron(because iron is the only magnetic element)(or something containing iron)and another item, maybe Redstone which would push and pull blocks toward it depending on the signal level it will pull more blacks, this is a great idea in my opinion because it will open a new realm of possibility for things like Redstone doors, another suggestion I have, off topic from caves, out you should be able to stick blocks together with slimeballs, u click a block with a slime ball and then place a block next to it and it sticks, also you should be able to combine Redstone and slime balls to make Redstone u can place on the cealing and floors.

I think Mojang should add more stuff like abandoned mine-shafts and Mob spawners. even if it was an update at a time, it would give more of a story to the caves. I think it would be really cool if they added an underground village, and it would be a society of a different type villagers.

What about coloured crystals that glow in the dark? Maybe make it advanced by allowing it to emit its colour.

I.e. Red crystal emits a red light.

Could acts as a crafting recipe for new redstone  lamps or glowstone!

Mabye going along with the biome specific caves you can only get some gems (New ores/gems pls) in those biome specific caves and maybe undergound zombies have an undead miner look with a pick, and you could add a trader that only spawns underground and has trades you can only get from it but what it is or what it looks like is up to you

Should add More Variety of Ores e.g Copper, Tin, Silver and more.

A new type of villager? the miner? has the ability to mine blocks and sell what it finds.

    Think this would fit well.

I agree with the cave update!!!!

Minecraft is about mining and adventure and such more things which the devs have updated imroved and added to

but there needs to be more excitement to mining rather than just mine and thats it, i would love there to be abandoned houses from 1000s of years ago and maybe some new ores like copper, ruby, zinc, lead, etc.

Also stalegmites and stalegtites would add a more realistic feel to minecraft and have a purpose to maybe live in a cave underground as a base!!!

I was thinking that the maximum depth be alot deeper, and as you go deeper, there would be certain new dungeons that contain loot that allow you to go deeper (such as a mining ring). Maybe a system like pressure damage when you go too deep without the right gear. I'd like to have new structures, like a spider boss in a labyrinth of cobweb like blocks, and an abandoned enderman worshiping cult that have become crazy enderman like monsters, the possibilities are endless

I would also have the end game item when beating the ender dragon be a ring that allows you to survive the void in the overworld (bedrock is breakable, but the void kills you otherwise) and as you have all of the endgame gear, you drop and drop under the world until you make it to the ender king, a gargantuant Ender dragon that you must fight in order to access a room full of portals like in minecraft story mode (not as many). The portals in the room would be unbreakable and it would function as a form of new game plus. Stepping into one would generate a new world with altered gravity and spawn conditions. In the portal room would also be a portal back to the overworld so that you can resume the game you were playing. I have a world of a lot more suggestions, but that's all I have time for today. Bye

    Troll Village

A new kind of village but wait those aren't normal villagers in fact they don't even look like humans!

The trolls can spawn in different colors and have the health around 10 hearts. They could be decided to be neutral towards players or always attack players and have a chance to steal a random item. Then to obtain the item they stole back you kill them. They can have trolls that live peacefully and then have little troll guards to protect the village.

How They Would Interact With Mobs

A troll can maybe ride a spider and use it against you. They could run away from a creeper because they fear being blown up (Although the creeper is friendly towards anything but the player... and cats) Bats could help them fly around in the caves to get an advantage when trying to fight the player.

    What Could The Village Contain??

The trolls have chest stored in their little huts. What's inside that chest? Well not high tier loot but maybe useful items like name tags, saddles, maybe iron tools, food, etc.

    Tameable?

This one is up to the devs because the troll could work as a mini companion and help you store extra loot on mining adventures. They might not be able to fight unless you give them a good set of troll armor and sword. Use gold or another mineral to tame the troll

    New items

    • Troll armor
    • Troll weapons? (Like daggers)
    • Troll meat... Ew not to eat of course but for potion making.
    • Potion of poison recipe. A new way to obtain another harmful potion.

Cave update is absolutely necessary, and with Player's expectations so high, I hope Mojang go all out and make this the biggest update yet.

Here is an idea; Hopefully we'll get cubed chunks in the future (16x16x16 chunks) to allow for infinite Y axis generation, and with it I think layers of harder rock could be added, Stone, which can be mined with wood to diamond, then a crust layer that can only be minded with netherite, then deeper down there's a thin layer of even harder rock that requires special explosives or alike to destroy it, and under it will be even more unique ores and items that are so deep down but once obtained allow you to break any block in the underground (other than bedrock)

Maybe even at around Y = -900 there could be a "Soft bedrock" layer that would require intense tools and prep to break, while also enduring extremely high radiation levels and having to protect yourself from mobs

Add cave formations like stalactites and stalagmites, as well as more complicated crystalline and calcite structures. Could be generated with some kind of new "calcite" block, maybe similar to quartz.
