We spend a lot of times in caves in minecraft but they didn't get any new or exiting features since a long time, that's why I think a cave update is due !
Some ideas :
- Caves biomes of diferent types of caves depending on the biome it's generated into, for example : Ice caves, bats infested caves, lava caves, etc
- Stalagmite and Stalagtite in caves, should be blocky, maybe like cobblestone walls
- More mushroms in thsoe caves?
- Mobs spawning only in caves?
There is a lot that could be done so that just some ideas, also the nether is a big caves, so it could be updated at the same time !

Crystals coming out of stone, making like an underground crystal biome. Also, maybe skeleton miners that use iron pickaxes as weapons. They can drop the pickaxe or the miner hat. The miners hat gives night vision, good for mining. Also new ores, meaning more gear and tools. Also finding Dino bones underground would be cool. (Maybe making something to make a dinosaur pet 😎 (INCUBATION)). Also an undead miner (a zombie with the same thing as the skeleton miner). Maybe some ancient trees, made with ancient wood and no leaves? Also adding the other ideas at the top is cool.
I want more ore more ancient more castle mystery like use something that so omg mytical legendary thing to open door (and cant break it in creative too) that will be so interesting thing like what is inside the door?
I think there should be some new ores (copper, rubies, sapphires) and some new mobs (miners, ghost miners ECT.) And also some other stuff like underground villages or something like that. Stalagmites and stalagtites would also be cool. I also like the idea of cave biomes.

Maybe on top of it, there should be bears in those caves.
Maybe marble, also I think retexture obsidian. Maybe a couple new weaker ores like Tin or Copper. New smelting items or furnace fuels. Idk
I would like caves to be much bigger and the dig limit to be much deeper at least two times deeper than it is. I would like to see wolf dens, Bear Caves, and Troll hordes I think the troll should be a new boss in the game but troll hordes would be rare and not easy to find kind of like a stronghold. The troll could drop a new weapon like a club which could take down multiple enemies at one time, I also think there should be new ores like ruby, copper, and Krystals you would be able to make new tools and weapons from these ores, Emerald tools and weapons should be added too. Underground villages would be cool but not populated by villagers populated by dwarfs I think dwarfs should be a neutral mob. And last but not least I would like to be able to craft or find a hammer in the cave update kind of like the great hammer in Minecraft dungeons or it could even be the great hammer.

Absolutely. It would also be interesting if certain types of ore spawned more frequently depending on the biome, however other ores would be harder to obtain.
e.g. in a desert biome, it's easier to find coal and diamonds, but much more difficult to find redstone and emeralds.Just an idea, but if there were 'cave ruins' or something along those lines that spawned in larger rooms connected to caves underground that had good loot, but could be trapped/very rare.

More ores?
New Minecraft ores In caves... maybe even god tier ores that have different abilities
There could be radioactive ores that are really valuable but deal 2 hearts of damage when broken and inflict the poison 1 effect if you are in a five block radius of them.
Wow this is very good of a update but don't make the mobs ONLY SPAWN IN CAVES I feel like the outdoors might be too easy.
There should be more ore's such as copper which can be used to make machines that allow you to crush an ore into 2 ore dust (lets say its iron for example) you crush iron ore into 2 iron dust then put it into another machine that smelts it into 2 iron ingots. Other ores such as tin, aluminium, titanium, silver and cobalt would also be a good addition.
Some gems should be seen in these caves like sapphire and ruby which can be used to make tools and armour, emeralds should also be used to make tools and armour, amethyst, jade and opal. Some of which can be used as a lighting source, armour and tools, or perhaps they are only use for decoration.
Caves in the nether should contain ore aswell like nether gold ore, which will agro nearby mobs such as pigmen or the newly added piglins. I also think, nether ferrous (which would require you to have four of to make an iron ingot) would be quite interesting. Nether coal and other nether ores, maybe some of which that I previously mentioned, or perhaps ore that can only be obtained in the nether would be a very good way to make you want to go into the nether
Widen caves and maybe also give some reverb going on in caves? Those would be nice features.

(ORE) I think ores like Copper and Tin are cool but I think there should be Magical ores like Gigamith or Fragtium that could be used for magic staves or Enchanting Tables!
(GEM) Gems should be very rare and make Enchanting Boosters or Enchanting Table Fuel or Staff Power. The gems names should be matching to the ores like Gigastum or Frahum!
(MAGIC) Enchating and Magical Minerals Should Intertwine. Specal Enchanting Tables Make different books for different Minerals or Equipment. Magic Staves Should Do The Grindy Task Of Minecraft Like Destroy Stone in a 3x3 or Grow Crops but they have only so many charges then the gem disappears NOT THE STAFF! Gigamith and Gigastum should only combine with the Giga, No Giga with Frag!
Here’s some more ideas:
Each “biome-dependent cave” should have a unique naturally generating structure. Okay, maybe not all of them, but most of them (e. G. Mesa’a unique mineshaft style)
Improve bats: Bats should be bigger, and should have multiple types (like parrots) based off of real-world bats. You should be able to make them trust you, and they will use their echolocation to warn you about unseen mobs!
Using the refinement system: here’s one example of what you could do with the new system like nether it’s has:
bejewlled armor: two new ores, topaz and amythist, Craft 4 of each together to get a jewel stud. Combine these with your gold armor/tools to make gold armor/tools about as strong as iron, and have more durability! That’s just one idea of things the new system of armor-making/improvement could be used for
Ideas:
1. Steel
- 3 coal + 1 Iron ingot
- Is diamond tier but has iron durability
Used like normal iron for anvil, armor, and tools.2. Cave Dwellers
- Spawn in underground mineshafts
- Give them a banner
- find others without banners and gives them one
- Invites the dwellers to a group where they mine together
- Beds = home
- Chest = storage if near home (10 blocks)
- 20 Hearts (40hp)
- Lava resistant (take 50% less damage)
- Chests with tools better than theirs they upgrade!I think the caves just need an overhaul! They're nice currently, and sometimes breathtaking. but they need some new features, maybe a couple new mobs and/or stalactites and other things like that, make it a little more fun to go down there? and maybe a tiny bit more rewarding.

mojang is going to have to figure out the change of biomes at a y velocity, but it doesn't seem that hard.
Infinite world height like in cubic chunks mod would be awesome for this! It's definitely possible hence the mod's existence
I think it would be neat if there were more ores and maybe more dungeons and things to really make caves more exciting

Making caves fun to explore with different biomes and ores like gemstones and more common everyday ores is really important because there may be iron diamonds and lava underground but there is no real incentive to explore caves when you have what you need.Adding new items we can use such as armor and new ways to upgrade with these new ores/materials we find.
And finally mobs. Enemies that can make the game fun where they have special attacks and new ways of doing damage (they should be optional to fight) Incase people don't want to fight them.
