Gravel should fall to fill space, a piece of gravel should not just fall down but move to the side also (a 27 gravel tower would fall into a 3 by 3 by 3 form)

Just to add to the idea of new metals, I think tools and weapon metals have already been covered and perhaps more utility metals would be more appropriate in future updates. Gold is a good example and current utility metal of the game, but something like silver that can serve a similar yet unique purpose could add more depth to the game and its mining. Copper, Redstone variants, silver, or any other utility use ore and materials. Perhaps even an ore that can only be mined with TnT, giving it a use. Meteorites could be an interesting material but if they were large and unable to be picked up, they could present a challenge to the players. Only allow the meteorite to be rolled along the ground or rolled into a minecart to get it back home, forcing players to make a rail line to move it back to base. Using materials in this way can give creative players and nice use for the tools Minecraft gives you.

I'd say an Underground Lake biome could be cool. It would be a great underwater supply and could spawn a unique mob that could drop something new related to mining. If we're going with new cave biomes, ores, mobs and/or tools, then maybe a part to a new tool or an underground food source.

Also, since goats aren't necessary (Since we have sheep, cows and Hoglins which serve the same function goats would), perhaps we could have a Cave Goat. It would provide food for players underground.

And maybe for a new growable food item, a kind of root that grows underground from the roofs of caves. We've got most foods that grow in sunlight, and mushrooms do grow in the dark, but I'm talking about food you can eat raw that grows up-side-down. We haven't got a mechanic like that yet, and I know that the developers won't add things to the game if it isn't necessary or doesn't add a new mechanic.

They should add the cave update to the nether so when your're mining for netherite you have something to explore

I'd say make the mine shafts and tunnels much longer and better procedural generated, so they don't cut off etc. And make it so that there are tunnel entrances from the over world leading down into the mine shafts. The mineshafts should look more human as well, like someone has actually been here.

AKA there should be one big area in the mineshaft that was used as the miners living area.

It would be awesome to see another rare biome come to minecraft. Maybe there could be a super rare Crystal Cave biome?

i don't agree with "- Mobs spawning only in caves?"

i think more mobs and maybe they should get harder to fight after u kill the dragon or smft

i mean they are easy to kill and if u basically remove them it wont be as fun...

it fun to mine but i don't do that a lot ...

BOSS CAVE BIOMES - I would like to see rare cave biomes implemented where the cave blocks, mobs, and loot are themed to a boss mob that lives there.  For example, wolf pack cave with some sort of larger wolf mob creature.  Or a Wyvern Cave with an old boss wyvern and then a younger weaker pack and young.  Or a beehive cave under ground made with honey and honeycomb blocks full of hives and bees and a queen bee boss to kill.  Or an Ogre cave habitat. Or even a spider cave with a larger boss spider.  You could maybe even have a dark or haunted forest biome infested with spiders and a spider boss like Mirkwood in The Hobbit.

Whatever the biome would be it would need to be rare and difficult to find like woodland mansions - perhaps even needing a map to locate at times.  Make even the map difficult to find.  But it would push us to adventure more and search in the world for the these places.

More gems would be awesome, more monsters, bigger caves, and things that would add more life to the caves like scalctites and stalagmites.

    Yes.

We need a cave specific mob that adds to the atmosphere of the underground.

We need underground biomes where some ores are less rare than others.

Maybe more pickaxe enchantments? A "Heated" pickaxe that melts the stone so that you won’t need to melt the stone away from the iron or gold? But then again cannot be applied to wooden or stone tools because it would melt the tools itself. Or just a new material that is hot that you can craft tools from that has the same funtion.

Elytra could be made more useful or even mandatory in some places underground.

Old water pockets underground (not water ravines but the little half sphere of water) could have a more oceanic theme with loot etc.

These are the things I’d be STOKED to see. Especially the pickaxe enchantment or the hot material pickaxe.

The quark mod has a lot of features that would fit in a cave update

things like speleothems and new blocks like marble and basalt it would be really cool to have some of those things.

Maybe crystals from crystal caves could be used to create more powerful Golems?

I feel like if we do this we definitely need more gems and ores. Ruby and Sapphire come to mind, amethyst could be interesting, each being able to be crafted into tools better than iron but not as good as diamond. I do think we need emerald tools as well. The thing I want most is new melee weapons for this. Something other than the sword like a mace or proper battle axe being crafted with an iron rod (crafted by 2 iron ingots one over another like sticks). Maybe variants with better durability if made with iron rods instead of sticks. This could also implement new caves in the nether too.

I think copper ore should be included, just because iron is sometimes a little rare, the copper ore can be as common as coal but not as common as iron.

Adding on to AquaBuzzardHR, I think that we should have more underground structures for example:

A temple similar to the Terraria Jungle temple, it would be randomly generated underground, with good loot inside, maybe some diamond gear, or some sort of new tool. There would be new mobs, and new blocks (only breakable with the new tool in the temple). The twist is you need a key. How you would get the key, it would be a difficult crafting recipe involving endgame loot, such as a nether star, and some of the new netherite, and maybe some new ender  dragon drop (just an example). Some new structures populating the underground would make it much more worth it to explore the underground.

I think there should be more structures in the caves like a nether portal that generates in the world and a cave temple and a Dungeon

We need a cave boss, maybe something like a golem. If more gems are added we could have something like the end portal where we fill it with gems instead of eye of ender (and stay in the overworld since it is a summoning sign instead of a portal).

    New Ores

Add gems like rubies and sapphires. Their tools could be better than iron but worse than diamond. They could also be traded with a new villager. The villager could be called a Lapidary, and he can make aesthetic blocks.

Add metals like titanium and tungsten. They could have higher durability than diamond, and mine better than iron. They can be more rare than iron, but found in the same range as gold.

Add steel. Steel could be made by eight iron and one diamond. It could be used to make armor and tools with higher durability than iron but not as good as diamond. Steel blocks could have some blast resistance.

with the new nether update and how it showed 3D biomes where one biome can be on top of another this seems a lot more possible now.

Just make ore and ancient debris spawns on a pattern, and not RNG, would be the best cave update.

i agree with this, i would like to see more gemstones and maybe more armor types based off of those? like sapphires and rubies along with respective armor types, maybe even add steel as a combination of iron and coal to have a sort of mid-tier between iron and diamond armor, we could add even more metals too like cobalt or copper and tin and have new alloys for different armor sets, have the different armor sets be at the same level as iron or steel (such as alloy and non-alloy metals being 2 different tiers of armor but different colors and maybe being interchangeable in crafting with iron such as pistons), the new alloys and metals could be cool for building too, have like steel or copper or bronze blocks for cool desert builds as an example, i think this update could branch off into so many amazing things and have so many cool new metals and gemstones, you could have rubies and sapphires and diamonds be at similar or same level too in terms of armor and tools and weapons too, i also think having lots of metal colors would be cool for building and also having mixed armor colors for diversity in armor would be cool, imagine playing on a server and different teams use different color alloys or gemstones for different teams (think one using bronze, one using steel, one using electrum, ect.) and it would just be very cool, caves long needed an update and i think adding lots of cool, different colored metals and gemstones and even adding alloys would be amazing
