Goats can spawn in mountains and drop mutton and wool upon death. They can be milked and sheared as well. Goats are passive and will run away when attacked. Also I think it would be hilarious if goats started screaming when running away from you.

If Mojang are going to add another animal, they need to be something that's actually useful. Recently, I've seen a trend whenever they add an IRL mob into the game: They're nice, useless additions to the game. I hope that Mojang makes the goats interesting and useful. Taking inspiration from Hoglins, goats are another mob that can attack you and is a great food source for mutton (or even a new source of food, which is what I was disappointed for the Hoglins, but at least it follows the high risk, high reward mentality). However, unlike Hoglins, goats are neutral, so you can make a farm out of them. However, if you attack one, all the goats around the area will attack you (they can calm down though). However, in return, it can give you either the new food source (which is better than mutton) or more mutton, granting the player a new choice of animal to obtain food. By the way, goats can be milked and sheared too, so they're like cows and sheep combined to one.

Maybe once goats are added, they could be given a variant for the nether fungi, kind of like mooshrooms are variants of cows. Fungus, Fungi, Fungoats! Look it up on Feedback and vote for it!

I think it’s a good idea to add goats because first they are one of the cutest animals ever and since pigs, cows, horses, and chickens, are farm animals so are goats so I think they should go with the farm animals

Goats can provide more food items like, goat milk and meat. Their fur can be dropped and could be crafted into wool or be used to make fur armour. Fur armour could be useless but adds something different to the game. The goats could eat any vegetables or plant including seeds. They could charge if they have a baby or if you hit them. They also could spawn within the taiga, spruce forests or mountains.

Some things that could be crafted with goat drops:

    • Cornucopia: Crafted with three goat horns in a bowl shape with a golden nugget inside, this is an RNG food source. When right-clicked, it uses up one of 64 durability points and gives one of any of the various non-prepared/cooked edibles, allowing players to get that berry farm started or straight-up give them a poisonous potato.
    • Horn Fishing Rod/Bow/Crossbow: More durable versions of the stick-and-string implements, these have twice their durability. To balance this, the bow and crossbow can take 6.75% longer to draw. A small nod to the Urgal Horn Bows of the Inheritance Cycle.
    • Putting Goat Milk or Cow Milk in a Cauldron and letting it sit for a few days will create Goat or Cottage Cheese, respectively.
    • Four Goat Fur could create one Goat Wool, which would use the more muted pre-1.12 colors.

Someone above suggested using Goat Milk in "milk potions", so this is how it could work (If this should be a separate post, please remove this):

    • There are two types of milk potions: Cow Milk (good) and Goat Milk (bad). When they are consumed directly after being drawn from a cauldron in bottles, Cow Milk removes all bad effects whilst Goat Milk removes all good effects.
    • Like regular Potions, the Milk Potions utilize the brewing stand and Nether Wart in their brewing along with the standard potion recipes. (Pasteurization - bonus!) Using a Fermented Spider Eye swaps the type from Cow to Goat and vice versa.
    • There is also a Milk made by brewing Cocoa Beans without the Netherwart: Chocolate Milk/Hot Cocoa! This will give the player Saturation with Cow Milk and Hunger with Goat Milk since chocolate milk IRL is a good post-workout drink.
    • When drunk, a Cow Potion removes all bad effects and gives the one in the potion, while Goat Potions do the opposite, removing all good effects and giving the bad one. (Invisibility is exempt from this, despite being a Goat Potion.)

I think it'd be nice if goats included several varieties, like the tropical fish spawn egg. These varieties would include a few different pelt colors and patterns, with it being possible to spawn rams (with large curled horns), baby goats, and female goats (with smaller horns).

I work with goats in the real world and 4 things I know and would love to see in minecraft are
    1. There is A HUGE range of goats (from pigmys to the famous fainting) and this would be awsome to have.
    2. They eat mostly everything
3.they can learn from watching humans and other goats that learned from humans (opening doors and gates) would be fun and a small less deadly challenge to keeping minecraft goats
    4. Having fun (quite like dolphins) goats have emotions, are smart and like to have fun by punching humans around this would be an awsome thing to have in minecraft

Please  let us tame them and they should spawn in mountains, forests, and plains

once you tamed  them they should help you fight by ramming into the person you’re fighting with its horns

thank you for getting  the idea of goats and sharing it with us

I was SO disappointed with no new animals (especially GOATS) on the new update!  I do love the new building blocks, though.

We should be able to milk goats, get their milk, place it in a furnace, and get goat cheese! I know that's not entirely how it works, but you do curdle the milk. Maybe goats could eat leather and leather items in trade for EXP?

Sure. Goats. But they are just like wolves so with the horn, they might attack with the horns.

If goats are added, they should be a neutral mob. That way, when you hit them, they will come up and head butt you.

Goats should be able to do the move headbutt, which knocks back the enemy to the equivalent of knockback II, can disable shields, and weakens armor effectiveness by 40%.
It's horns, when placed it the middle of the shield, allows you to knockback an attacking opponent( there will be a slight indicator that's tells you when able to shield bash) and a slowness effect for 2 seconds.
    Cooldown will be 10 seconds
