I think that bedrock should be on all platform. It would be better if we were all together

With MacOS Big Sur / Apple Silicon being able to support iOS apps natively there is literally no reason for Minecraft Bedrock not to be on Mac now. Unless of course Microsoft is holding it hostage on desktop to get more people to use Win10.

I don't think it will be that difficult to ad bedrock support to Linux and MacOS because MC edu can run on those platforms (MC edu's engine is/looks pretty similar to bedrocks engine)

One of the main issues with cross play is that the games functions differently. Mobs have different health, and a lot of other features are only Java/bedrock. But porting Java to Mac OSX should not be too hard, since it has been done already to IOS and IPadOS. And Linux is so flexible so that the only issue is many time/developers, and the lack of stores on Linux.

The latest M1 chips of apple silicon would make this even easier, cause you already have the iOS app available, all that would be needed is keyboard control support, full screen optimization, and maybe even Ray tracing support.

The new M1 macs already can run the ipa file for Minecraft and it works with only two flaws: no keyboard/mouse support and no fullscreen. This is TRIVIALLY easy to fix and implement. Yet Mojang has opted out of making their Minecraft app cross-platform. They actively went against it. Mojang, I don’t know what sneaky business practices are going on, but this is not great for PR. And if you want people to spend minecoins, you’re going to want bedrock to be as available as possible.

i think we should have both cross platform from java to bedrock and vice-versa, but i play on a mac and want to play bedrock on my pc without having to buy a windows and have two computers or have to lose my hard work i put into my java server by pemanently moving to a windows. you should also be able to play java on windows.

I do hope this happens soon considering this post has existed for almost 3 years now, and Microsoft is constantly pushing people to use Bedrock. A Mac & Linux version would be killer, and it seems more feasible now that the Minecraft Launcher supports Microsoft accounts.

I do not think they will replace Java, nor do I think they should. However, I think it would be an amazing decision to bring Minecraft bedrock to Macintosh / Linux.

    MINECRAFT!!! LISTEN TO ME!!!!

We the Linux and mac player can't enjoy Minecraft with our friends because the bedrock is not allowed.

This is not fair, I really hope and wish if you can add it to mac and linux.

    thanks,

Destroy java and give us Bedrock and Minecraft will be fully unified. For Mac just allow iOS Minecraft to run on Mac and for Linux just code it in. This is not for more Windows sales or you wouldn't allow PS4/5 and Switch for more Xbox sales. This isn't a coding issue as Mac and Linux are more than capable, so destroy Java and unify all platforms plz Mojang just do it for us.

This would be quite useful, mostly for cross-play. I am ok with dropping either version at the condition, that you could run your own server, like you currently can with java.

P.S. Currently you can cross-play from bedrock client on java server, if server has plugins like geyser+floodgate, so I'm ok with just adding cross-play ability, but I think maintaining two codebases is quite inconvenient for development and resources used for that can be utilized better.

Why is Bedrock on iOS but not Mac OS? the App Store is on both operating systems and I question why this is even an issue?

Seems like a misstep because the player base for bedrock would grow more which I assume is your main plan seeing the differences between the two releases.

Because Apple Silicon macs allow iPad / iOS apps to be run natively on the mac, it would be nice if we were allowed to download that version of the game, until a proper bedrock port is released for MacOS (currently the iOS version of the game is disabled in the Mac App store for unknown reasons).

I agree, it is quite ridiculous I cannot play with my friends from my $2,000 computer but can play on literally every other device I own. This is not fair to the Mac users.

Please Microsoft. I just want to be able to play Minecraft with my friends without having to use my iPad. You could even allow the iOS & iPadOS app be allowed on the Mac but you've turned that off, too! Please give us Bedrock on Mac, I am more than happy enough to buy it again.

Also, with the new Macs being ARM and using the same type of processors for iOS & iPadOS it shouldn't be that hard to port over Bedrock onto Mac officially.
