For everyone saying how rare emeralds are, keep in mind that you can get a lot of emerald from trading with villagers

It's about time we get emerald armor, tools, and weapons

You got my vote. I've always thought emerald weapons would be cool. They got iron gold diamond and everything else. Why not emerald

My suggestion is that emerald armor allows higher enchanting of a single enchantment chosen for each piece. This would allow players to customize their equipment more. I also think the durability (protection, damage, etcetera) should be about the level of iron, maybe a little lower.

This is a great idea and it would make emerald more useful.

Or maybe emerald gear gives you certain perks but has lessened protection. The perks could be something like: Increased jump height (Because it’s green like the jump boost particle) Extra protection from Pillagers and Crossbows (Emeralds from villagers used to defend them.) Or it could protect from some fall damage. (Because you find emeralds in the very tall extreme hills and mountain biomes.

Edit: And weapons could do extra damage to pillagers

This would be an awesome addition to the game!I agree with what @Cephalosquid said.  But as the new nether rite tools kind of took the better tools into the new update, I'm not sure if the hype will remain.

I like the idea but it should be more durable and it should add a special effect to make it interesting like villager discounts when wearing armor or the tools give you taste and weapons give extra damage effects. it could also be an armor upgrade situation like netherite?

    No! No-no-no! Emeralds it's only a money!

In all honesty, Emerald gear should be better in some ways than iron & diamond, but worse in others. Perhaps it's like low durability, but higher efficiency, like an upgraded sort of gold.

In addition, villagers could trade emerald gear and potentially even use it if they ever were given a different variety of guard.

This armour should be a unique trade from the wandering trader only. He needs some love

Sorry, but for me, is a no. I mean, emerald was born from the ruby, that was changed into emerald to not be confused with redstone, and the ruby was intended to be used as a coin. At least, you should be able to use the emerald to upgrade diamond gear, like mount an emerald in the center of a sword, maybe in the smithing table, so you will have to chose from two paths: netherite (that will grant you better damage and durability) or by mount an Emerald (that will grant you… better attack speed and reach?)

So, for me, no Emerald armor/weapon/tools. And I hate green ;)

I agree with the low stats but I feel as though emeralds are still too easily reproduced with villager trading halls and raid farms. Also by the time players have enough emeralds to make the gear they will proably already have diamonds.

My + Idea to Emerald Armors an Tools :

When you will wear full armor or minimum chesplate and leggings :

Villagers will give you between 3 and 5 more trade options and will give only one discount (discount : -25%

seeing how that emeralds are like a currency, this is perfect, and can be used to flex how rich you are

Emeralds are far too easy to acquire, even without mining

I've likely mined about >15 emeralds in my whole playing of Minecraft, but I have well over 200 in one world

If you have a few really good farms you could easily get loads of emeralds, and therefore it wouldn't make a good armour/tool set

But, I do agree with it's positioning on this list, if it were to be implemented

Should be more above iron considering that it's rare and giving them another use than just trading and a beacon

Emerald armor could work like netherite armor and tools where you still have to get diamond armor first to use in the smithing table, then you could have some benefits when trading with villagers or emerald armor and tools are more enchantable

I think emerald should perform admirably better than diamond even, but have poor durability, perhaps south of iron equipment stats. What I mean by this is that emerald tools are fast, as fast as gold, but they either break faster or are simply less durable. This goes for attack speed as well; emerald tools and weapons swing quickly and deal lots of damage, but you could be very at risk of breaking them in prolonged combat, especially without unbreaking.

Perhaps wearing emerald armor could have a similar effect on villagers as piglins, not in that the villagers will cease to attack you (because they don't attack), but that they give you a discount because you are seen as a wealthy patron of their offers. Maybe that effect stacks the more armor you wear / items you hold. With poor durability in mind, perhaps emerald provides less protection than iron, but is more easily enchanted, on par with golden armor or even being able to host multiple protection enchantments (up to 2?) to increase situational abilities.

Because emeralds are typically associated with a spiritual clarity of mind, maybe emerald armors can have exclusive enchantments that allow the player to see where mobs can spawn, or provide a mild spectral effect to hostiles within range (including other players when in multiplayer), or even enchantments that increase the gamma factor of the player's vision, allowing them to see ores and monsters in the dark

Interesting idea, (even though it's a bit unoriginal because there's an emerald mod) but emeralds are so rare. Not to mention that emeralds are softer than diamonds.

it should be in between diamond and netherite

This shouldn't be added to the games
emeralds are a form of currency above all else. It also wouldn't fit with the step by step progression system of the game
With tools, the first oness you get are wooden, then stone, then iron, then diamond and the netherite. Gold, while it used to be useless, now kind of has a purpose with piglins in the nether (although that only applies to armour). Large villager trading systems are usually created after or just before the player has gotten full diamond gear. If emerald gear was on a level below diamond, it would never be used, because most players would already have diamond gear. If it was above diamond, then it would be too op because it is easy to amass stacks upon stacks of the stuff from trading with villagers.
It might also set a precedent for giving more ores armour and tools. Redstone, Lapis, Coal and Quartz gear aren't being asked for, so why should emerald be?
Overall this would be a pointless and unbalanced addition to the game. In my opinion.

Probably not item, my idea is that wearing emerald armor gives you discounts on villager trades (kinda like villager trades)

Great Idea. I feel like emeralds aren't used for too much and this would make an amazing additionto the game. I also made some emerald stuff to help u visualize.

Emerald tools are the most overrated suggestions ever.

No, We do not need tools that are less powerful than gold (Emerald is rarer than gold, it should not be worse.)

and No, We do not need a tool that's between Iron and Diamonds (Diamonds are not THAT hard to find.)

With the addition of Netherite, I don't think we need ANY kind of new tool. What we need is a Golden tools buff!

I quite like the suggestion that wearing the pieces primarily give you a bonus discount to villager trades. Or even if it is just for cosmetic purposes, it is still amusing to think about as it is essentially the Minecraft equivalent to wearing a suit made of money. Perhaps it could be very gaudy and villagers would make approving or impressed "HmHMM!" sounds when you wear it around them. Again, amusing idea.
