Some generated structures’ chest loot tables are not immersive enough

I support having loot tables for woodland mansion storage rooms. Not high value items (diamond etc), but a nice selection of 'rare' building materials. It would be a slightly easier way for a player to get prismarine (for example) without having to take on a whole ocean monument.

@DarkElfLX adding prismarine doesn't fit super well with the style of Woodland Mansions, but it's still an interesting idea. Maybe illagers just like to collect rare building blocks and hoard them in their chests? I would be on board with that!

Flint and steel is very relevant to nether loot, since it’s necessary for someone trapped in the nether with an unlit portal.

In reality, are saddles and horse armor appropriate for any of the locations where they are found, except smithy chests?  I think it makes as much sense to leave them everywhere they currently are available as it does to remove them from specific areas.

@ClayGoddessSari We're starting to get into aesthetic (read: not objective) considerations here, but I'll explain why I wrote what I did.

As far as the flint and steel goes, my thinking was that fire charges would be a better, more Nether-y, more dangerous alternative to flint and steel, since they also light portals. Also, let's be honest, fire charges could use the attention.

Your second point is a fair one, and one I struggled with too, but at the end of the day, for me, it boiled down to 1) There are horses in the Overworld but not the End or the Nether and 2) A Nether fortress often yields half an inventory's worth of horse equipment, which is an inventory-clutteringly high amount, compared to the more reasonable numbers you would get from any other structure.

My only suggestion is that there should be a low chance of Netherite scraps in the Fortress chests.

I support removing Horse Armor variants from Nether Fortress and End City loot chests, as they have no reason to be lying around in those dimensions. Horse Armor should be exclusive to overworld structures. Saddles can be removed from End City loot, but should remain in Nether Fortress loot as they are necessary to ride Striders.

To replace the removed loot possibilities, Nether Fortress chests could have a small chance of housing Netherite Scraps.

Not only are the chests in the forest mansion empty, but if you restore a game from a backed up region file all the chests in all areas will disappear. They can only be made to reappear in 1.16.3 and 1.16.5 by flying into the chest in spectator mode, but in the latest snapshot that isn't possible. And of course, if they are restored in this way, they will be empty. As in, their loot tables will never trigger  and if players had items in them they won't be there either. This behavior needs to be fixed as well while they are at it.

I only agree with the first one, red nether bricks for fortresses sometimes.

One problem I see with this is the loot for the nether. They should still have flint and steel, (iron), in the chest because if a gast blows up your portal, it would be nice to have a safe way back... Otherwise good idea!

Asbrae, thank you for the support, but read the comments, please. Fire charges can be used to light portals.

I think Jungle Temple chests should have vines as filler - those things are all over the place!

Also, Dungeon chests should have filler relevant to the mob spawner: Zombie Dungeons have rotten flesh while their Zombie Villager and Husk counterparts also have Emeralds and Sand, respectively; Skeleton Dungeons have bonemeal, bones, bows, arrows, and in the case of Strays, tipped arrows; and Spider Dungeons have cobwebs and string.

And why not have Ruins chests filled with sand and gravel? Those sediments get everywhere...

endermen were once a human civilization, transformed to endermen to better survive the end.

Yeah, the woodland mansion one is important. All the empty chests feel like an unfinished feature, if they are meant to be storage rooms then add low-value items so that this is obvious. There could be bread, mushrooms, logs, planks, leather, or similar.

I would agree with replacing flint and steel with fire charges.  I missed that aspect.

I will admit that I’m as much of a hoarder in video games as anyone, but technically there is nothing forcing you to pick up all that horse gear that you don’t want.  Personally, I’m also a hoarder of horses, so I want as much gear as I can get. X3

SupersuMC - the ruins and jungle temples ideas are excellent!! I do feel like the dungeon idea would require a overhaul of dungeon generation, though; besides, rotten flesh, bones, and string are all part of dungeon loot tables already.

Some way of converting wool to string would make sense. Maybe using a new thistle flower to tease it out.
