Please ad iPad Pro Smart Keyboard support.

I really enjoy playing Minecraft and it’s the best game out there. However recently I just found out that you can’t play with a keyboard on a iPad Pro. And think that’s an a real letdown on us who play Minecraft on a iOS device and it limits us on how to enjoy our game specially with the gameplay. I know how it feels to play with a keyboard on a computer(sadly don’t have one) and a surface tablet. I believe that they should not be the only ones able to enjoy that kind of gameplay. I as well as everyone else want Keyboard support for iOS devices,( specially iPad Pro since it has its Smart Keyboard). You guys said that you would like everyone to enjoy and play Minecraft. Well this is one way we would truly enjoy the game. Please listen to the community we really enjoy playing this game. I contacted Apple and they said it’s up to Mojang to handle they gameplay. I believe that you guys will so and that’s why we wouldn’t like to be disappointed. Thank you.

    I totally agree. I noticed how you said that you know how it feels to play with a keyboard on Minecraft--well, YES! And I have Minecraft: Pocket Edition in addition to my PC Minecraft, but am quite accustomed to playing Minecraft with those native controls on the keyboard: 'W' 'A' 'S' 'D' and I quite frankly prefer those over touch (on-screen) controls! Of course, there is no mouse or device such as for the iPad, or for any device that can run pocket edition for that matter. Though I would love to see these improvements added to the "Controls" for Minecraft on iOS!

    Not just Smart Keyboards. We need support for Bluetooth keyboards that can also connect to iPhones and Android phones.

    Yes please! Why wouldn’t this be simple to implement? The keyboard is already functioning perfectly, I’m using it to type. And yet when I pull up the Minecraft app I have to use touch controls. Even though my iPad is in desktop mode. Ugh.

    I agree 100%. I only just realised I can’t use my keyboard for gameplay, I’m extremely disappointed. I, Like most others, believe you guys will fix this, hopefully sooner rather than later

    Yes please! I recently got an IPad Pro/Air and a case that has a Smart Keyboard, but without the track pad. This would be great! Especially when on servers playing pvp type games, we have a disadvantage.

    By the way,  in iPadOS 13, mouse support has now been added as an accessibility feature. It works with any mouse/trackpad Bluetooth or wired! PS4 and Xbox controller support has also been added, this is a really good opportunity for MCPE on iPadOS at least to get better and grow!

    I'd like to add - please also allow mouse support with the new mouse update to iPad OS.  With mouse and keyboard support, I can play minecraft on an iPad, and then I really don't need a laptop anymore.

    You could even do a co-marketing thing with Apple, showing off how the mouse support makes the iPad a better gaming platform.

    I totally agree with this. Recently I got an iPad and wish I could play with the keyboard instead of touch controls or on my bugging MacBook.

    I'm even more sad since Mojang decided back in 2017 that they won't fix this issue...

     

    It just makes me really want to cry.

    I bought this $200 item mainly for Minecraft and it would really be awesome if we could use this keyboard. There’s no mouse or pad but we can still use fingers to swipe and place blocks and stuff like that. Also since computer cant connect with xbox or mobile players, this gives us a chance to play with friends with the same familiar play style.

    Yes! Today I just purchased an apple Smart Keyboard for my iPad Pro only to find that it is not compatible with pe. It would be rlly nice if you could add this feature in your next update!

    It seems ironic now that iOS 13 has full support for keyboard and mouse - even external usb keyboards (which I’m using now), and an external usb wireless mouse. This should be added immediately. It’s a shame that iOS minecraft can’t be anything near the full java experience right now even though there’s support for everything.

    I have never agreed more to anything in my life! 

    The weird part is though i can still type commands etc into the chat but cant really use the keyboard for anything else...

    Cmon Mojang, this should be a game universal to all users,
    The mouse and of is the true experience for Minecraft.
    Please add a Pc version to Minecraft on the iPad Pro if that’s possible too

    Omg thank goodness i'm not the only person in the world with this problem! I play on a 2018 ipad pro and for weeks have been trying to figure out why my keyboard wouldn't work with minecraft. It's not just that though, plugging a mouse into the usb port doesn't work with the game, and I've also tested a bluetooth keyboard and got nothing. Every keyboard and mouse I've used work fine with the ipad, just not minecraft. It's a bit relieving knowing it's not my fault that they don't work, but Mojang really needs to do something about this.

    Yea, I tried and no matter what I do my Bluetooth keyboard won’t wok.For a second i thought there was something wrong with it until I saw this. PLEASE make my iPad Pro be able to play with a keyboard on minecraft pocket edition because I don’t want to pay $26 to play on my laptop. If you don’t fix this I’m deleting Minecraft because it works on everything but my iPad.
