Penguins

Now, I've noticed a lot of cool new things added into the game, such as Dolphins, different fish, the trident, and the new swimming animation! 

 

But, I was wondering if Mojang could try and add penguins into the game as well?

 

They would (of course) live in the tundra biome with polar bears (who would hunt the Penguins.)

Baby penguins would have little eggs to spawn out of (like an ender dragon egg, but to save time, just have the egg disappear and a baby penguin appear in it's place when it hatches.)

And adults would be able to slide around on the ice, slowly breaking through some ice blocks, in order to go fish for their young. 

 

(Maybe, if a baby penguin went into deep water, it would kill it? Circle of life-wise?)

 

well, this is just a thought. :P

    Two Things,

    - Polar Bears & Penguins live on the opposite sides of the world

    - What would penguins do, what feature would they add to improve gameplay besides being cute?

    I love penguins the only thing that I want to see in minecraft is penguins added and you are a life saver for posting this I would like the babys when born to be underneath the mother/father, but thank you for posting this

    i don't think if polar bears would hunt penguins, i know that polar bears are much higher than penguins in the food chain, but each lives in a different pole of the planet, penguins could be one of the slowest creatures in the game, but they swim and slips with their belly in a high speed

    A penguin should be 1.5 blocks tall and their should be different variants.

    Ooo! And we can tame the cute little penguins with fish! They could help you fish too! And besides that, much like dolphins they could show you treasure if played with! Maybe they can drop an item that can help you craft something

    Penguins shouldn't live with Polar bears, since they don't live with them In real life, and also in real life, there are some penguin species who live on tropical beaches, i.e, Galapagos and African Penguins, so maybe, if this feature hopefully get added, there could be different penguin skins if they're spawned in either beach, tundra or iceberg biomes, Just letting u know :)

    The only problem is that polar bears live no where near penguins. And penguins don't live in taiga. I don't think it would work having them together. And because there's already polar bears in the game, theres no room for penguins. I also think this is the reason every post around this in votes (mob category) is either announced or under review yet this one isnt

    I have a feeling making penguins tameable will have a similar effect as taming parrots with cookies. Though I agree there should be more tameable mobs, penguins IRL can be hostile I think. If they must be tameable it should be like foxes and not like dogs and cats.

    Great Idea!

    Maybe have the penguins spawn on a new biome instead: The Ice Cap Biome!

    This Biome would have packed ice blocks up to 30 blocks thick and be surrounded by sea ice

    It would also have small stone mountains poking up to 15 blocks above the ice!

    Lastly, the biome would be surrounded by deep ocean!

    I think the eggs would be more similar to turtle eggs already in the game. Also, it would be cool if they swam around hunting the nearby fish in the ocean.

    If seals are ever added, they should hunt the penguins.

    A penguin should stand on top of the egg, and the egg should hatch and get fed a few meals by it's parent and then grow a little bigger and then be on it's own. also, this might be difficult because penguins are usually found in colonies of thousands, which would lag, so we shouldn't do thousands... and we don't want young people thinking that penguins are solitary animals.

    There could be different species of penguin depending on the species. Since not all penguins live in cold climates

    I think penguins would be a great idea. My favorite animal is a penguin, and if Mojang could put in penguins that would be cool. Penguins could travel in groups and their young would follow their parent. Also, it would be cool if players could leash penguins and name them. They would not harm players, even if attacked (but they would waddle away). Penguins would be cute to see in Minecraft. Those are a few reasons I think penguins should be in Minecraft.

    They should spawn in large groups but be rarely found on icebergs (if they’re emperor penguins)
    They could also add walruses and seals to the Iceberg biome and tundra as they’d give the land and oceans a more exciting feel as would adding more animals in general.

    Not the baby penguin dying part, that doesn’t make sense. I’m pretty sure that this post was posted before this but, the eggs should be somewhat like turtle eggs and they should also spawn in iceberg biomes

    I have wanted to see penguins for a while now, I love the idea of the eggs. Along with penguins they should add North and South poles (so like two tundra biomes). Many people think that penguins live in the same part of the earth as polar bears, which is entirely incorrect. Polar bears are found in regions near the North pole while penguins are found near the south. It makes sense for someone to think they live in the same area, many people do. I think it would be very educational and clear many people's common beliefs of them living in the same region.

    I think penguins would fit extremely well in minecraft. I think they should be located in the frozen ocean and frozen deep ocean biomes. Penguins would jump in and out of the water in order to hunt for fish. Penguins can be bred using fish. When two penguins mate they would make a little nest with 1-3 eggs inside. After the penguin pair creates their nest, they will take turns sitting on the nest and bringing back fish to the nest. Fish brought back to the nest will be deposited within the nest so that players can right click on the penguin nest and take the stored fish. If the player takes the eggs from the nest the penguins will get angry and try to peck at the player. If one of the parents dies, the remaining parent will alternate between fishing and guarding the nest. After the eggs have hatched, the penguin couple will continue to bring fish back to their nest.

    I think that penguins should care for their young. The adult penguins would fish extra when they have baby penguins. They would also stay within a certain number of blocks away from their eggs(say, 5 blocks away). They would spawn In frozen ocean biomes and stone shore beaches (some penguin species live on cliffs). They would live in groups and stay within a certain number of blocks away from other penguins. They would be quirky little animals and be interested in you. They would dive in the water by leaping up and diving in.

    I would really like penguins as a bird lover myself, but they already have an arctic area where polar bears live. Besides, penguins and polar bears don't live together. Maybe they could make another arctic world where polar bears don't spawn.
