Make minecraft free

People all around the world have spent all their money buying a MASSIVE GAMING SETUP just to notice Minecraft Java Edition *COSTS $26.95!!!!!!!!!!!* Money and then they think ill just play roblox minecraft will lose money so please make minecraft FREE!!!!!!!!!

    I think it is a very reasonable price compared to the many games that are available today. If they make it free it would not be financially sustainable for them to maintain and update

    Minecraft was free a few years ago so they have the permission to make cost something. so there for i do not agree with you. minecraft can do whatever they like with the cost of minecraft

    No. They worked hard to make this game as democratic as a game can get. For the record, this is cheaper than most games other than mobile games. I strongly believe that 20$ is a generous offer. So I have to disagree completely on this one.

    This is actually stupid, You do realize they need to pay their staff right? Roblox doesn't spend much money on devolopment so they can afford to be free.

    If Minecraft did become free, there should be a special version of it that does cost $26.95, because then it would be unfair to the people that did buy it before. Even if it only becomes cheaper, there should be some sort of compensation for paying more than other people for Minecraft. Let's say you bought something that costs $26.95, but later became free. You would be like, "Why in the world did I buy this?" But I still don't think it should really have a price change, because Minecraft has multiple things you can do, and you can do it for as long as you want because you can keep seeing new things and loading new worlds. If you say that Minecraft doesn't have enough content, you are also wrong, because you can still download mods which are as far as I know, free after you get Minecraft. I think $26.95 is a reasonable amount to pay for the quantity you get, and not having to pay for anything else in it. Also, having Minecraft free makes Minecraft lose more money than people switching to Roblox. Having Minecraft free also makes it so that hackers on servers can just keep on joining back on after being banned, because they can just get a new game, which I believe gives you a new IP. Minecraft has a lot more that you can do on games on the Wii-U and Nintendo Switch which mostly cost $60! Also, you don't need a "MASSIVE GAMING SETUP" to play, you literally just need a laptop or computer. The best part is that this page even exists! We are able to give feedback which helps the game get updated, and guess what? FOR FREE. Almost all games, cheaper or more expensive don't even have feedback, or even worse, look at the page, while there are active admins on this page.This is a horrible idea which you can tell from all of this evidence, which all counters your argument of players switching to Roblox and Minecraft losing money, so Minecraft should be free. (Which makes absolutely no sense at all) Especially with all of these comments giving you more different reasons of not making Minecraft free.

    To be honest, a lot of us wish it was free. But really, the 27 dollars was worth it! Minecraft is a game where you can design, build, and have just such a big amount of fun with friends or not! I also agree the price should be lowered, but only to about 21$.

    I don't think minecraft should become free, but mabymake it like the java version, where you buy it once on your account, and then download it on all the platforms you have. Cause it's a bit incovenent, to have to buy it on IOS, Google Play, Amazon Store, Windows Store, etc, if it was a free download on those stores but then you have to log into an account that allready owns it.

    well 26.95 isnt a bad price when you think about it. i mean your getting 2 games. when i mean 2 games i mean java and windows 10 edition. its fine just save your money for a little bit.

    No, if you can afford a massive gaming setup you can afford Minecraft for 20 dollars. It costs money so we don't have to buy DLC and if they did make DLC nobody will like them. Also, they will not have any way to get money if it is free.

    I think 27$ is a reasonable price for a game like minecraft. If someone can afford a "Massive gaming setup" then paying 27 bucks for minecraft shouldn't be the problem.

    This honestly needs to be deleted. I don’t think you understand that they need to make money to update their game. Plus after you download the PC version of Minecraft, You have access to mods, Shaders and a bunch of other things. Instead they should make the bedrock edition cheaper, I think this is fair because we don’t have as many features as Java Edition does, And we usually have to wait months before getting it.

    Seriously dude, games cost money for a reason. The devs deserve compensation for their work, and they can't get that compensation if the game is free. Not only that, but it'd shorten Minecraft's lifespan by several years unless they added.. well.. ads. Which ads would just chase off players and kill the game anyways.

    Although I think many people would like this to become a thing but, the fact Microsoft created minecoins in order to make more money, i think making minecraft slightly cheaper is the most they could do.

    I believe that it's okay for a game this good to be priced at just over $25. However, I do have a problem with having to buy Bedrock Edition for each platform I want to play it on (Windows, Android, Xbox, etc.). I would prefer if Bedrock Edition was free to download, but when you open it for the first time you have to enter your account. If you already owned Bedrock Edition, the actual game would be downloaded through the app and you could play for free. If you didn't already own Bedrock Edition, you would have to buy it and then you could play it on any platform you wanted.

    So someone can buy a massive gaming setup, but can't afford a $26.95 game? I remember buying games for $60.00. This is why games nowadays are early access, prone with bugs, and often are abandoned. Support your game developers and stop asking for free stuff as if you're entitled for it. Remember, people had to build this game, fix it's bugs, and continue to develop it. This is why it costs $26.95. Be happy that it's not $60 like games used to be.

    Roblox is also nothing like Minecraft, not even remotely a replacement.

    First of all, if you are going to build a PC just to play Minecraft. Dont. Please dont waste your time building a PC just to complain that a game that is well worth the money, and is cheap as possibly can be, is "too expensive." Want a cheaper version of Minecraft? Use your phone. Its only 9.99, literally an iPhone 4S which is like 50 bucks on eBay can run Minecraft. If you aren't happy with that, I dont think you should even step foot onto Minecraft grounds. Please have some common sense. I own Minecraft on pretty much all platforms, Im not complaining. Judging by this post, Im guessing the situation you talked about is you.
