In my opinion, the one tick delay was what set it apart from all the other redstone parts and made it especially useful... Please revert this change.

give us the one tick delay, or atleast tell us why it was changed

Having a variety of input response times was a virtue of the block, and synergistic with other redstone components that supported and even enhanced the utility of other components. I think it is a grave mistake to "nerf" the utility of the copper bulb. As OP said, the copper bulb has been one of the most exciting redstone additions many of us have seen in a long time. I understand that it is still an experimental feature, and liable to change as such, but it has already had a significantly positive impact on the game and within the redstone community. Its uniqueness is something to be embraced, not shunned. Let it keep the single tick delay.

I really liked the delay of the copper bulbs. While I understand it was for consistency, it opened up a lot of more restone projects with the delay.

If they really changed the tick delay to "keep the components consistent", I don't understand why the crafter isn't QC-able yet.
They had to have seen the community being really happy about the 1-tick delay, why change it...

Yeah! One-tick delay in redstone would be amazing to keep in the game!

mojang: creates an amazing new addition that revolutionizes a ton of redstone contraptions and releases it in a snapshot for the community to test out

also mojang: “never mind” *removes all unique things about it for no reason*

Have tick delay based off of oxidized state. 1 tick per oxidized stage starting at 1 (like it was pre-23W46A) and ending at 4 when fully oxidized, as if the conductivity is being impaired. Goes in tandem with the light value decreasing as well as it gets more oxidized.

    Yes please change it back!

Everyone got really excited about the one-tick thing, I think it'd be a shame to get rid of this harmless feature.

The Minecraft 23w46a article states that it was changed for consistency with other redstone features, but I and likely many others would prefer good, useful features over consistency. Please bring the old tick delay back.

Importantly unlike with the crafter, the short delay isn't overpowered. It mainly gives you odd ticks, which were possible through hacky solutions before. I think having an official odd tick block would make it feel more polished in total.

I see no reason why this was changed and it's definitely upsetting

The 1 tick delay is what made it a different redstone component. Now the copper bulb is a glorified lever.

most revolutionary block since the observer and they had to ruin it...

The copper bulb being one tick was revolutionary for redstone and allowed all sorts of unique and interesting expansions to the game. It also makes the copper bulb even more unique than other redstone related blocks, and as such makes it even more useful and complimentary to other blocks. Please revert it back to one tick, the possibilities, excitement, and positive change it would bring to minecraft is overwhelming!

When it comes to the copper bulb, having a one tick delay would exponentially allow the creativity for both new and old players. Old players could revitalize old concepts, making contraptions that were deemed impossible possible, while the new players would have an easy start of into the world of redstone if they so choose.

1 tick delay was super valuable and needs to stay

this nerf makes the copper bulb so incredibly less usefull

Technical community absolutely loved this feature, adding the Copper Bulb was one of the greatest ideas, and how it came was incredibly original and was a major breakthrough between the redstone community. Big things can be done with the Pre-Nerfe Copper Bulb (Some people had demonstrated it) so, in my opinion, the 1 tick Copper Bulb should come again, just as it was. I think it was perfect from the start.

With the original behaviour of the bulb, it felt like the block brought more than the sum of its parts to the game as a whole.
I fear that the change to run on even ticks takes that quality away from the block.

While the light levels and oxidation textures are admittedly USPs when compared with the redstone lamp, they don't bring quite the same gravitas to the comparison.

That said, I'm sceptical that running on odd ticks has to be a part of the copper bulb's functionality specifically.
I suspect the community would enthusiastically welcome any block with the bulb's initial behaviour (especially if said block didn't involve lighting updates as it changed state).

The one tick delay was integral to the identity of the block. Please revert this change, Mojang!

This change shows a major ignorance of what people want. The copper bulb was the only reason I was excited to play Minecraft again after years and now that the 1-tick delay has been removed all of that excitement is gone.

I still don't get why Minecraft would remove something that everyone was excited about for "consistency", please return the 1-tick delay. No one wants another Red Stone lamp, we literally already have that.

im so hapy we got a 1 tick delay. i had so many ideas on what i could use it for. oh wait? you guys want to make it like other redstone parts... so your going to remove half of what made this so exciting for everyone? was every you tube video saying nothing much about a two block t flipflop (you need comparitor) and all talking about the 1 game tick delay.... EVERYONE wants a 1 tick delay. no body needs another 2 game tick delay we have plenty... when things fit to perfectly together and everything matches weres the creativity to get around problems? id rather build something from random stuff than have a cookie cutter list of what to use. builders love those weird blocks that dont match that have a differnt vibe to them... redstoners well dont worry you dont need creativity you can just use these limiting blocks and all the future limiting blocks..... whats the point of a 20 game ticks if we only get half to use. builders dont buld higher than 128... even though theres space we want to limit you because we know best.

This change was created with the purpose of increased consistency. But stubbornness in favor of this value restricts the ability that Minecraft has to create truly interesting & powerful features.

I agree this nerf was unnecessary just like the past updates. They are starting to ruin Minecraft. If this continues I am going to quit the game. They need to stop with the consistency and add a bit more difference to the blocks.

please bring back the 1 tick delay or have it give a delay based on its oxidation state starting at 1
