✔️ Vertical Slabs

  • The idea is simple. Add a new type of block to the game, they would be: Vertical Slabs! There really isn't much to explain, they would be like a normal slab, but vertical. Thus, Vertical Slabs would be created for all blocks that currently have slabs and their position would depend on the player's position just like a normal slab. Your crafting would be 3 blocks vertically and you would be given 6 slabs, like a normal slab, but in the vertical style.
  • Why should they add them?

1. It is relatively easy to create, that is, it is a block and there would be no work in creating a new texture.

2. It is something that is within the Minecraft Vanilla style. So, it's not something that goes away from the game's theme.

3. It's an incredible feature that would revolutionize the game's constructions.

4. Lastly, the community would love this. ❤️

    I am sorry, but this won't get put in. Mojang has put them into the forbidden pile, and is going to take this down for certain. it's a great idea, but they won't use their heads. they will not add them. i am sorry to be a downer.

    sideways stairs can be left out. i just want my sideways slabs and a slab stacking mechanic that allows you to stack slabs of different block types on top of each other in the same block.

    Sorry, but Mojang put this into the list of forbidden things. If this was not in the forbidden list, then Mojang might consider adding it.

    would be awesome but also a hell to use slabs, you would need to be in a very specific position to put them the way you want to, how MC woks, it would take up a lot of space (its basically adding 4 new blocks for every type of slab) and when you think about it , they are not that necessary, I prefer mojang focusing in more game changing stuff

    This was in the last April fool snapshot where the player could eat cheese blocks from the moon by parts, and of all forms you could make with this was vertical slabs too! so the developers made that already, and there wouldn't be any work to do, just copying to vanilla, and done!

    They are so helpful! Without vertical stairs, I can’t create a 2x2 cobblestone chimney I can enter. Vertical slabs are great for building cities.

    If they wanted to avoid more blocks this could be added to the functionality of walls/fences as well. In that if you place a wall to the left or right edge of a block it places it as a slab instead (after all stairs have many orientations built in).

    Vertical slabs would be a best idea. I'm a builder and when those are added with stackable slabs and vertical stairs then the build are going to whole new level

    Vertical slabs could spawn in villages, mineshafts and many other structures.

    I don't get why Mojang is so babyishly stubborn about vertical slabs. They wouldn't "inhibit natural creativity," they would just give you more ways to be creative. Maybe Mojang is too stubborn to back down on something they said a while ago, and just won't give people things that will excite them a ton. The reaction if we get a skeleton that shoots poisoned instead of regular arrows: "That's interesting."

    The reaction if we get something we've been asking for for years and would not harm the game, but would only make it better: "Wow! They finally added the thing that we've been asking for for years! Maybe Mojang actually listens to simple requests, instead of being stubborn and not backing down on old statements!"

    If Mojang can add a crafting machine after they said they wouldn't, I think this idea is more possible than ever.

    Mojang gives the pet and pvp communities what they always wanted, why can't they give the Building community what they always wanted.

    it would probably be easier to make the existing behave like rotational blocks (Logs, Quarts piller etc)

    That was notch who did not like the idea correct? Are we still following notch's words that he spoke before leaving us? I do not see notch in charge of any of the creative decisions of minecraft. So why are we following his rules?
