I find the idea needing to place or find villagers in specific biomes for specific enchants to be an exhausting thought. I have been in worlds where the closest jungle was 15k blocks away. Can we move away from the kidnapping/relocating and start working with the villages more? (#PreventKidnapping)
I WANT to have one place to go to for enchants. That doesn't mean librarians can't scale better with game progression. I think there are ways to make librarians less OP while adding to the immersion of spending time in a village of people. Here are some ideas:
- A librarian learns random enchants as they upgrade. They request items from the player to research (upgrade) the book to the next level. (Librarian quests)
- Working with the idea that master librarians have higher enchants: You give a librarian a magical item that rotates their inventory the next day.... could be: enchanted emerald
- Requires player xp
- Full enchanting setup
- Maxed out librarians - A village needs to be exposed to new things to be able to offer specific enchantments. Examples of exposure:
- diamond armor on an armor stand in the village boundaries: librarians can now learn protection enchants.
- obsidian = unbreaking
- blast protection = Armorer in the village
- silk touch = loom or bees
- Efficiency = village has X population - Maybe the village has to trust you more before they offer you specific types of enchants?
- Maybe the books we find or enchant can be used to help librarians learn new enchants?
