Please don't make the proposed villager trades in the latest snapshot. It's going to make late game gear extremally difficult for the causal players. Having to go to every Biome to get low level books is going to make it more tedious then it is now to get the desired enchantments. These low level books could easily hit the max armor stand combining limit as well in our attempt to maximize them. The change i would recommend is to gate lvl1 books behind the first book trade, lvl2 behind the second and so on, but not limited to a biome, and No Book Nerfing. Zombie curing should not be touched either unless the one cure is comparable to curing them the 4-5 times now.

I dont have words to describe how frustated i am with this change. Mojang added villager trading system to boost mid game to late game so the player could expend more time in more interesting projects, like building a base, a redstone or even a farm. With this change it ruins this hole concept. Dealing with villagers is already stressfull, but with this change we will need to transport villagers thousands of blocks just to have access to some books. And now because there will be no more efficiency V books we will not be able to craft a maxout toll even after all this works to get the necessary trades. Because the level cap of the anvil will not let it happen. This change require a hole overhaul system on enchanting mechanics, villager transportation, enchant table. Instead of a small update. U guys need to plan it better. Otherwise it will ruin a lot of players gameplay experience

Honestly I disagree with with this. I believe this change is perfect to finally give the enchantment table a use. However I also believe they over killed the expert level librarian in which my suggestion would be that there is a 50% chance for the master level librarian to sell the max level to their enchantment book with the other 50% to be the level below max level as this will make it not as brutal of a nerf while ensuring that after a little work a player can get the enchantments that they desire without it being entirely guaranteed or overly randomized. With how librarian villagers are now its far to random and tedious to get the enchantments that you desire however with these new changes and the small change I suggested earlier getting great villager trades will now feel more rewarding and less of a grind to get what you are searching for. I still believe though that the enchantment table needs an overhaul though as its far to random to get any enchantment that your looking for.

Okay, but consider that having biome specific trade tables ends having to reroll your villager trades over and over again. As every librarian in a swamp village will have mending at a master level there is no need to reroll their trades to get mending because it was already guaranteed. I think that's worth building a swamp village for.

Though, if Mojang is going to be adding all of these biome specific stuff, it would be good to have a way to find the biomes beyond wandering around aimlessly. Perhaps allowing the player to enchant their compass to seek out specific biomes?

I agree, and with how hard it is to transport villagers, I don't want to spend more time and more xp

The new trading mechanic shouldn't be nerfed that bad. Even if it was, mojang shouldn't add the cap level of enchantment.Combining multiple of book is real pain which lead to "To Expensive", also if you want specific enchant you need travel a hundred or thousand of block if you unlucky enough, just to get A book with "efficiency 3" and you decided to bring the villager back to your base which is super time consuming, this hassle bring us to next problem which is loaded chunk, this force player to load unnecessary chunk and it not good thing for player with low end device. Speaking of low end device if this change make to official release, this change soon will goes to Bedrock edition so how mojang gonna do with mobile player, the amount complain about lag or anything else will highly increase. This change is absolutely the worst of all time, I think mojang just make this game even more grindy and not all people had that much time to play game, progressing would be hard with this change. There's a lot more thing that you guys can do like, fixing bug that almost 8 years old but never been fix for a reason for example and maybe fixing the worst performance of the game.Mojang should make change that attract people, not to force them playing for hours, this update really messed up so consider change it or make some minor nerf with the curing mechanic or something.Make change that attract people so their money to.(the change of the wandering trader is only thing good in this update)

Why don't you make it were you bring a item, like a axe to a villager and he gives enchantments based off of that item and his level. Almost like your talking to that villager. It's hard enough to find villages in every biome and go back and forth home to each village to get trades.

It's supposed to be difficult and challenging to get those enchantments, especially the overpowered ones, especially mending.

This cheese has been effectively a bug for a long time, and it's finally being fixed.

This is the whole idea, enchantments should be more difficult to obtain, so that getting them on the table and as loot at least makes sense.

New Trading can be good for exploration, but at least add a way to copy enchanted books, just like templates.

It's meant to be harder. Villagers were never meant to be the best way to gen enchantments.

The only change that i agree with is how you can only zombified and cured them once, so you can't have the 1 emerald cost for everything.

The other changes are so bad, it's just so annoying and tedious and dumb. Not everybody gameplay is suffering/grinding. Some of us hv other things to do in this sandbox game!

I feel that even though things may seem too easy as they are minecraft is not about the difficulty it’s about the creativity. me and my friends all play on a realm together with an economy and we just like to enjoy ourselves and build and work but doing stupid stuff like ruining villagers is what could badly damage our economy and kill the server. We do not play so it can be hard we play to have fun be creative and have our own tiny economy. With this villager update it could quite possibly lower joy and creativity on the server and in general in the minecraft community. Thx

Why does Villager trading need balancing? It has gone back and forth and is now harder than ever

I have played Minecraft for years and I for one do not like this change at all, nerf the cure discount if you must, but don't change the whole system. If you must change things, roll it back to the way it was in 1.13.2. You could breed villagers, or cure Zombie Villagers and you had to take what you got, You could not change it by breaking a work station. What they grew up to be, was what they were. It is not super easy, build a trading hall, then breeding and choosing villagers to keep.

Villager have already been balanced in a lot of ways, Villager in 1.13.2 and before traded all day and night, they occasionally locked up but would unlock by trading a different item. Now they trade only a few hours a day and frequently lock after 1-2 trades, sometimes till the next day. People call that overpowered ???

Traveling thousands of meters out to trade for a watered down trade is not the way to go.(Highest Unbreaking is II not III) Most players won't bother. Who is going to transport those villagers with the nerfed trades back thousands of blocks to a trading hall that took weeks to complete, not me! And a lot of other players have told me the same. Please don't fix what is not broken, I think the cure in this case is worse than the illness so to speak. I love Minecraft and play it to have a good time and relax, not to get frustrated and discouraged, real life has enough of that.

Personally I like that you have to work more for mending as it's really good

I agree. This changes not encourage us to explore but only stress out. We went from get all the enchanment from any villager at 1 emerald (zombified and de-zombified 5 times) to find a swamp (that coul be 5000 block away), build a villager breeding, upgrade to master, an only for 1 book. It too much for only 1 update. And all of this without having yet an effective way to transport villagers in Java (is a nightmare that take a lot of time).

I think the solution could be something said before here in this post: duplicating the enchanted books. Could be expensive, maybe like this: in the enchatment table with another book, and amount of lapis lazuli and that consumed all 30 levels of experience from you (can place the enchantment table right next to an experience farm).

I'm voting for the Don't make unique enchantments for villagers in specifically geographic points" and NOT "for or at least don't make some enchantments obtainable by swamp and jungle villagers, ". These options are contradictory and should be in the same vote.

I like to stay in one spot and build things up over time.  This update will actively punish me for that.  Who cares if the current way makes the game "too easy."  People who think so don't have to use it.  Don't take a sandbox game and give it a "required" way to play.  I work a full-time job, being face to face with customers all day.  If I have to spend what little free time I have scouring the world to make just a little progress, I'll probably just stop playing altogether.
