There is no way to power the calibrated skulk sensor while in it's "waterlogged" state, making it impossible to have a silent calibrated skulk sensor.

The only way to power it at a strength lower than 15 is with a comparator or Redstone dust, both of which are broken by water.

Add Calibrated Sculk Sensor & new Amethyst Block functionality to the Ancient City redstone tutorial area. These new functionalities are great, but new players will never find out the new amethyst block functionality unless they see it in a video or read about it on the wiki.

I can't post "Add Calibrated Sculk Sensor & Amethyst Blocks to Ancient City redstone area" as a new post feedback because the Details text box & Submit button disappears when I enter that as a title. I think the feedback thinks this suggestion is too similar to other posts to be allowed. It's a bit over-zealous about that I guess.

Some great additional functionality for the calibrated sculk sensor would be if the comparator output would indicate specific events within the events group the sensor is calibrated to, allowing for a potential of 225 (15^2) different detections. This would allow more creativity and expression for players. This also would not take away any existing functionality, as the output comparators currently give when interacting with the calibrated sensor is redundant with the signal strength the sensor is calibrated to, and so is unnecessary to detect.

Lower the cooldown for the calibrated version of the sculk sensor and it'll be perfect.

Calibrated Sculk Sensor are an amazing new feature however there are some small changes that could allow for it to be the best it can be and those are first if a amethyst block is placed next to it calibrator(the amethyst line coming out of it), the Calibrated Sculk Sensor should only be able to detect the amethyst updates and be unable to detect other things even if they have the same frequency. And Second, if you right click the Calibrated Sculk Sensor, it will put it in a inverted mode which would accept all frequencies but the targeted frequency. Other than these changes its a great block that is really useful.

The amethyst in the middle looks a tiny bit off. Maybe the amethyst theme could be more present in the texture, rather than just adding a few splashes of it on the base sculk sensor texture.

This is a great feature!  Maybe though, give it a feature to where if placed on top of a block of some kind (wool, amythest, something) it is silent.

all my friends think minecraft is getting scuffed but I am loving it, especially the calibrated sculk sensor.

I am a BIG redstone fan and  am loving all the new features

The challenge advancement "Calibration Expert" should be granted for activating sculk sensors with every frequency within a 16 block area.

The ability to make a calibrated sculk sensor send its calibrated vibration on demand when powered

If we could get the cooldown reduced to the standard 2 ticks that most Redstone components use, the sensor would be far more useable. The regular sculk sensor's 2 second cooldown is balanced around the ancient city, and being forgiving with player vibrations. That original use is thrown out the window with the calibrated sculk sensor since it doesn't spawn naturally, so I don't see why it can't have a shorter pulse.

It would also be nice if the sculk sensor could hard power the blocks around it, and be calibrated through a block, to allow for proper wool occlusion, as currently the only way to hook it up requires several open faces.

It's cool, but I think copper should be included in the crafting recipe maybe?

Instead of redstone levels affecting Calibrated Sculk Sensors a more ideal solution could require having 16 different versions of the sensor. One that can be affected by redstone, and the other contains items that represent each action the sculk sensor listens to.

I think it would be great if the sculk sensor could also detect a note block pitch. This would add so much more use for the frequency system.

The amethyst block use as a transmitter is so clever! Players can now even make a working telegram in Minecraft! Great feature and my only concern is the lecture book commands since it would be hard for newer players to learn about the coding

I think there should be another way to mute the Skulksenors. Because water in an redstone build is Dangerous and it uses to much space. Maybe right click sensor with slime or honey. This can then be undone with an axe.

I offer an idea. For example, if a player places a chest at the place where the amethyst ends on the sculk sensor, the sculk sensor will only receive the sound of the chest opening that the player opens next to it, and this is possible with other blocks, for example, if you place a frame where the amethyst ends again, the sculk sensor will pick up the sound only when when the players will use it next to him

Here’s My Idea now don’t get me wrong. I love this block and I love the idea of giving amethyst a new use. I just think that the echo shard would work in this blocks crafting recipe better. For one Lore Wise the Echo shard has tracking properties as seen in the echo compass, and it would make sense as since the other component in this crafting recipe The skulk sensor is also from ancient cities maybe calibrated skulk sensors could be built into the ancient cities structure somehow. Another reason is as a hard-core player myself the echo shard currently has no real use if playing in Hardcore, so this crafting recipe change could give some much-needed used to this item, and a reason for us to go to the ancient city in general. . as I said, in the beginning, I do not think that amethyst should not get a new crafting recipe or use. I think this would just work better for the echo shard, but I would also like to see amethyst being used somehow in 1.20 but I would like to see what you and others think about this. Thank you. PS sorry about the typos.

Redstone Repeaters pointing into anywhere other than the Amethyst should lock the sculk sensor from hearing or playing sound.

I think removing the “Instrument” sensor detection from level 15 was a bit of a mistake. It was the only unique interaction Goat Horns had, and could make for some pretty cool contraptions at utilize just blowing a goat horn (or playing any future instruments) to activate the sensor with the new calibrated versions, which is now lost. Please add it back to level 15!

I quite like the addition, at first I didn't really get the purpose, but after tooling around with it I quite like it. However I have a few things I would like to suggest in no particular order:

    1. Water and redstone don't mix well (the mod quark makes redstone waterproof which feels great though making it so water doesn't leak from the sensor would solve it as well)
    2. A way to filter subcategories (comparator outputs strength based on sub catagory from the redstone filter side would work great)
    3. A sound amplifier (Maybe just a note block touching it extends the range of sculks without actually changing the sculk sensor itself, as the 8 block range is quickly getting filled up with all the ways to interact with it. A lectern, comparator, and two wool take up half of that range. Might want to make it mono directional to help with TPS overhead?)
    4. The cooldown does limit the usefulness, but I don't know if this should actually change. This can be overcome by using pistons to move wool blocks opening up more sculk sensors.

I'm commenting it hear so the Minecraft team can see it. For future updates add a autumn grove like the new cherry grove. (look at my season feedback for more details "How Seasons CAN Work In Minecraft Part 1" (thanks for listening I REALLY WANT SEASONS IN MINECRAFT ITS MY DREAM! =) )) Players vote this to the top of every post I copy this to!

Love the changes! It would be especially great if we could differentiate between sounds within frequency groups. For example the sounds of different goat horns or a way to differentiate goat horns from pistons, which is currently interfering with a lot of interesting options. Another user suggested using the comparator output of a skulk sensor to further subdivide the groups which would work great.

It would be cool if there was a way to change the "mode" of the sculk sensor so that it output a different set of redstone signal strengths for various vibrations such that using both configurations to detect a vibration would be able to calibrate which specific event caused the vibration. Maybe this could work with hooking a comparator up to the amethyst block rather than to the sculk sensor and the amethyst block would output these altered redstone signal strengths. For example if eating created signal strength 8 from the sculk sensor and 5 coming out of the amethyst block, you could know that it was eating and not any of the other signal strength 8 vibrations by the combination of signal strengths.

Fix the model to use the newer form of cross models where shading is disabled on the model. The crystal should also look closer to the amethyst cluster. If possible the crystal should have a glowing effect too

I want two types of calibrated skulk sensors: Amethyst and Echo. Amethyst does what it does now and Echo does the opposite.

I've seen this said already, but the fact that the calibrated sensor cannot take a signal input from a strongpowered block is very inconvenient, if not unintuitive. This isn't an issue on Bedrock edition, but for Java players, it might be enough to dissuade many from using it. It also removes possibilities for compacting the whole system.

The lack of strongpowering the block beneath it also feels wrong, but you can still take the sensor's signal through blocks with a comparator, so that can be acceptable.

Its signal length isn't a problem however. It's quite fun making a system that takes inputs at multiple times the speed using pistons and wool with extra sensors.
