Piglins are a huge part of the Nether (overall), and a really cool addition. However (not counting piglins' usage of different weapons) There just isn't enough variety in the piglin species. There are only two variants! That's where piglin rogues come in. I understand there is yet another post already existing, but I have different ideas following rogues than the post-er.
Piglin Rogues, should indeed break off from their previous civilization because of the discovery of netherite. Rogues spawn in parties of 3 to 5, and should be jacks-of-many-trades, armed with a sword, bow, crossbow, or pickaxe, occasionally with a shield. Each group of piglin rogues acts similar to an illager scouting party. Spawning in all nether biomes except the warped forest and soul valley, they have a chance to spawn on striders, traveling atop lava. Rogues have the same health as brutes (without armor) and can spawn wearing gold or netherite. Piglin rogues hunt magma cubes, wither skeletons, hoglins, zombie piglins and zoglins on sight, collecting their drops. Opposite to regular piglins and gold, rogues will specifically attack players only if we are wearing netherite armor, seeking to take it for themselves.
Each rogue party slowly meanders toward the nether fortress, perhaps waging war when their people won't. When one piglin rogue is attacked, the others in its party will not stop until either the attacker dies, or they do. They do not begin to pacify when they're blocked.
A challenge indeed...
